I saw a G/W version of this deck last week and thought It'd be cool to add black, I'll let you know how it does in the tournament tonight (Tuesday May 1, 2001).
Any suggestions before I go?

It looks pretty solid, but you need work on your mana base. You've got 5 turn 1 black spells (and another 2 turn 2) and only 4 swamps to cast them. Include City of Brass definitely, cut some non-swamp basics.

Hope the youngin' feels better soon.

Maybe I could add 2x City of Brass and 2x Terminal Moraines?
You're right about the lack of consistant mana for turn one black spells.
The kid's are already getting better, they just needed their daddy last night :).

With as much green mana as you have, You should use a harrow or something similar before you use a terminal morain. Other than that, it looks like a pretty exciting deck.

You should just play the 4 Cities of Brass. If you don't have 4, then try a couple of the lairs (one that makes GRB and/or WUB). Terminal Moraine might be good as well. I haven't played it enough to know how it affects mana-smoothing. It wouldn't help you do anything on the first turn though, which I thought was the point of the change.

Since the Moraine actually produces mana, I would definitely choose it over Harrow if you are serious about only using 20 lands.
I'm wondering if replacing the 4 Vine Trellis with more land might be a good idea. If you really want to use mana-rampers though, I think Quirion Elves would be better, as they can help smooth out your mana as well.

If your testing reveals that you're having a lot of trouble with not beaing able to deal with attackers on turns 2-6 then maybe the Vine Trellises, since they can block small ones.

I am sooooooo discouraged by this deck! The basic problem is that it lacks focus. The black in it is what's doing that, I just wanted it for a little hand disruption but to no avail, it just doesn't work. The white is for board control; Blinding Angel, Wrath of God and Orim's Chant to push through counterspells so I can plop down one of those or a Blastoderm. The Idol is for protection from opposing Wrath's and, and, and,.......well, you see, a lack of basic focus.
I am looking for a new Tournament T2 deck to play and this was my attempt to go rogue, OY!

<YJ looking through his rare box: "Hey, I didn't know I had three Nether Spirits and four Undermines, cool!">

try Pro tour Junk, it's a good deck, if you want it to be rougeish, try the "hippo" it makes the deck a contender, and Casuall.good luck.
