I'm doing a speech in school about school start times. I would appreciate it if everyone would go here: http://sleepnet.com/sleeptest.html and take the test and post your results. It only takes a minute.

Also, let me know whether you go to high school or work or whatever and what time you have to be there in the morning.

Well heres my results (I know I gave them to you already, but I'll put them here too)...

Go to school between 10-10:50, and it told me: You show symptoms of sleep apnea, a potentially serious sleep disorder. People with sleep apnea quit breathing repeatedly, often hundreds of times during their nights sleep.

You show symptoms of narcolepsy, a life-long disorder characterized by uncontrollable sleep attacks during normal waking hours.

You show symptoms of sleep apnea
You show symptoms of insomnia

High school starts at 7:20 (although my bus gets there half an hour early), and I have to wake up by 5:40. I'm usually in bed by 10pm.

I find that if I wake up just 2 hours later on weekdays, I feel much more awake and active and my day is much better.

I'm in high school, and homeroom starts at 7:40, but my bus comes at 6:40 and I arrive at school at 7:05 to warm up my flute before school.

FoR: yeah, I'm for earlier start times. With this I'm basically trying to prove that kids are getting messed up by waking so early in the morning. Nodnarb is only the second person out of about 20 whose class begins before 8:00 that doesn't have some sort of sleep disorder.

Some more info for your speach project.
Although I graduated 6 years ago I used to have to be at school at 7:45am and my sleep habits were much worse then.

I need to be at school by 7:20, effectively. I don't get NEARLY enough sleep, and would GREATLY appreciate a later start time so as to give myself a few more hours every night. Oh, yeah. I win the prize for "Most Sleep Disorders" so far:

Sleep Apnea
Insomnia
Narcolepsy
Gastroesophageal Reflux
Periodic Limb Movement Disorder

Do I get a cookie? Or a nap?

No signs of a sleeping disorder.

Can't remember what time high school started for me; 7:30?

One thing the test didn't have was apparently I "grind" my teeth during the night (or so I'm told :) )

Also, for 21? how the heck do you know if you dream right away? Hmm...

No signs of sleeping disorder. But then again, people don't often watch me sleep and comment on my sleeping habits. I've never paid enough attention to know whether I dream or not. School starts at 7:40 but I wake up at 6:00 and get there about half an hour early.

If you take a short nap, like 1/2 hour, and you have a dream, well, you're dreaming right away. It happens to me; sometimes I'll drift off in class and have part of a dream even if I'm only asleep a minute or two. It's a sign that you're not getting enough sleep, because you're body skips the first few stages of sleep.
