it looks good to me. The only weird thing I can see is that you have a lot of low casting spells and then there's Balance. So presumably, you're going to use it as a Wrath of God but most likely you'll have few cards in your hand (even with the Howling Mine(s)) so your opponent is going to have few cards in his hand and then Storm Seeker won't be that effective.

That's what it looks like just off the top of my head.

Another way to go might be to instead of making it white/green, to make it white/red since Sudden Impact has the same effect (or green/red). Plus you have added burn to get rid of creatures and/or your opponent when he gets low and Wheel of Fortune to refill your opponents hand (and yours, when you empty it) for more effect.

also you have titania's song and wrath of god..

thats not too great a combo.

if your gonna have so many low castng cost artifacts ad titanias song, take out the wraths and put in meekstone.. and since your playing white, a kismet.

don't listen to me, i suck at white

There's only one Song so what are the chances of getting that out? I like it as a possible finisher: Wrath and then Song and overwhelm with the (mostly) weenie artifacts.

I don't think Kismet is good though, it doesn't really do anything for the deck.

Re: Balance
I was planning on using it like a Wrath but I can see your
point. There's probably a better choice. The card advantage
is so great its had to build a deck with white and not put
one in.

Re: Red/White
That sounds pretty good to me. Is Sudden Impact an instant?
If so, that would be great. Bolts are some good too.

How about;
Artifacts: Same
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Sudden Impact
1 Wheel of Fortune

4 Swords
4 Disenchant
3 Armageddon
1 Balance
1 Land Tax
1 Enlightened Tutor

5 Plains
4 Plateau
4 Mishra's Factory(Kjeldoran Outpost?)
3 Mountain
3 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Maze of Ith

Re: Green/Red
Stormbind, Sudden Impact and Bolts would be pretty good
so, I'll have to experiment with that some more. (I posted
something like that already)

Re: Song's (Kismet)
Spiderman pretty much said it all. If I can set them up its
an unexpected finisher.(Song's) Kismet sort of helps but
the Song's gives me an offensive threat(s)I guess its a
matter of harder lock(Seeker kill) vs instant beatdown, game
over.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm always looking for ways to
improve my poor deck designs. In a related note, does
anyone have a decklist for a Natural Diasters deck.(e.g.
Savage Twisters, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, ect.)

Thanks,
Caveman

Artifact mana.....
Must.... have.... more.... artifact mana!

Mana vault
Thran Dynamo
Worn Powerstone
USE THEM TO CAST STORM SEEKER!
Also, Howling mine keeps them full up on cards. A Must Have.

Duel: Capt. Caveman said the artifacts are the same, so I'm assuming he's keeping the Howling Mines.

Mana Vault is good idea though (and I guess the others, although I haven't played with them)

Enlightened Tutor gets out an enchantment or artifact, right? It's probably unnecessary because you don't really have any "must-haves" of those in the deck.

I still am iffy about Balance; I guess you'd have to play-test it to see if it's synergistic or not :)

If you want to get REALLY fancy, maybe replace one of the above cards with Island Sanctuary. Then you only have to worry about getting rid of flyers.

Either that or maybe more creature control, like the Wraths or Earthquakes or whatever modern x spells there are. I always liked Fireball...

Hey, let's get really wacky and throw in Sunglasses to Urza to convert all that white mana to fuel the red x spells! :)

Maybe replace one Mishra's factory with an Outpost; you can always experiment to get the right mix (I like the Factories though!)

The deck's pretty solid... except for Storm Seeker.

It's an instant and you'll want to play it when you have him under a Winter Orb and Howling Mine. Well, when that happens, what difference does it make if you cast three Storm Seekers or just wait for him to run out of cards?

Nothing.

I'd say the slots are better used for more Wraths and Icies. Or Land Tax, since it's not restricted.

I was able to make an all blue version of this that used Dream Tides instead of Wrath and it worked pretty well. I'd actually recommend dropping green (since you can use Recall for Regrowth and Karn for Titania's Song and lose nothing) to gain counters for emergencies. If you like Green, Wall of Blossoms will probably be a most helpful card since weenie decks have speeded up since Alliances.

I've tried it and Maze of Ith isn't as helpful under Winter Orb. (Outposts could be funny with the Armageddon and Orb lock.)

I forgot about the "synergy" between Winter Orb and an Outpost or Maze of Ith :)

On the other hand, I think there IS a difference between casting 3 Storm Seekers doing 6-7 damage each and waiting for him to run out of cards (the former can end the game quicker).

Of course, the basis of the deck IS to keep the Storm Seekers or Sudden Impact so....

It seems to me that you want to keep the opponent's hand full. You either make him do it by tying up his mana (Winter Orb, Manabarbs) or doing it for him (Wheel of Fortune). However, you only get 4 of the "basis" card so chances are you're only going to cast it twice. So you need backup kill plan (creatures - Song, burn) and stalling tactics to keep him from killing you (Wrath, burn).

In general, I think the deck looks pretty good. Another idea is to go red/green/white with Quirion Elves and the "good" cards from each color (plus then you can have up to 8 of the "basis" card).

Re: Winter Orb/Outpost/Maze
I may not have the current errata, because I thought the
Icy and the Barrier could shut the Orb off at the end of my
opponents turn. Then during my untap step I could untap
everything. Does this not work anymore?

Re: Storm Seeker/Sudden Impact
It should do 6-7 damage each time backed up with 2-3 from
the Vice. I'd like to play with one or the other but I'm
open to other ideas.

Re: Dream Tides
rakso, would you be willing to share your decklist? I'd like
to see it.

Re: Red/White (green)
Spiderman, would you be willing to share your idea(decklist)
for that particular color combo.

Re,Re: Balance
I removed it for a Scroll Rack.

I knew this was going to get me into trouble... I got so involved that now I'm asked for a deck list! :)

Well, I don't have one... I've only used Storm Seeker/Sudden Impact to back up my Manabarbs deck. But the WAY I would envision it is:

Green for mana (Birds, SKYSHROUD elves (notice the change from Quirion Elves )) to get out the higher casting stuff and provide mana support for the Armageddon, plus a Regrowth and maybe a Sylvan Library and/or Mirri's Guile (especially since you have Scroll Rack now)

Red for burn/creature control (Bolts, Fireballs, Earthquakes) and Wheel of Fortune to re-fill everyone's hand

White for more creature control (Swords, Wrath, Armageddon) and Disenchants.

Those are the best type of spells (I think) for this kind of deck (for my idea of red/white/green).

You are correct on the errata; however, since you only had 2 Icys I didn't know if you were using them for creature control or what. Personally, I feel that if you use a lot of artifact/creature mana you wouldn't need the Icys for the Winter Orb because it just wouldn't be affecting you as much (gained from personal experience with my Manabarbs deck).

So how does your deck play (from your latest incarnation)? Are you getting the S.S./S.I. fast enough? Getting enough control spells?

Personally, I think the lone Black Vise or cousins is better than Storm Seeker, but if that's your fancy, who am I to stop you? :)

Re: Are you getting the S.S./S.I. fast enough?
NO!, well sort of but here's the problem........
Storm Seeker is just inferior to Sudden Impact. The deck
needs to be Red/White instead of G/W. (Free)Counters and
early lobotomies are hard to deal with. (different decks)
With instant spells, such as Bolt and S.I., I have a better
chance to burn them out. Sudden Impact is great right after
the draw step.(Seven cards plus two Howling Mines=10 damage)
I'll work on R/W some more and see how that goes.

Re: Getting enough control spells?
Not really, since the deck is meant to be good it should
be more focused. (common theme with my decks, they tend to
drift)Land Tax/Scroll Rack helps but I have to get them.

Re: Blue Ice
Those are some interesting decks. I did a little cut-n-paste
so, I'll be tinkering with them pretty soon.

I thought Storm Seeker was an instant also... Sudden Impact just happens to be red. Same effect and casting cost and everything...

Lobotomies do suck... I guess that's why you sideboard R.E.B. after the first game :)

I'm not sure I understand your response to control spells. I didn't mean blue, I meant red burn and white removal, which is keeping the deck focused.

Keep it up! I've always like S.S. and S.I. also...

Throw in Blood Oath and, if you don't mind being kicked very hard by your opponents, black vises.

Maybe you can use Pursuit of knowledge:
Pusuit of knowledge + 2 howling mines = 3W, draw 7 cards. skip draw phase.
That's 4 extra cards for 4 mana!

If this was blue white, sibilant spirit and indentured djinn would fit.
"On the other hand, maybe I WON'T draw 3 extra cards..."
Use wheel of fortune to search through your deck, for red.
For blue, use mystical tutor.
For EITHER use Planar Portal, the new card coming out!
