Hey guys, due to just coming back, I have no idea if this is an old idea but I saw Storm Herd and was inspired =P. Now I had a couple of ideas about how to build arond this card but they were too... "open-ended". So how would you guys build this deck? The only 2 cards i absolutely know have to be in the deck for it to work are:

4 Heartbeat of Spring
4 Storm Herd (obviously)

Lol so gimme some ideas!! Thanks in advance!!

Sakura-Tribe Elder
Kodama's Reach
Lifegift (2G, enchantment, Whenever a land comes into play you gain a life)
Selesnya Guildmage (as a backup or tokenbooster)
Crown of Convergence
(Dovescape + Boseiju!)

Hmm yeah all those look like they are going in. Except im not sure about life gift, cause even tho ive got a good amount of mana accel. in, once i drop the heartbeat all it takes is 5 lands to play it =P.

Then another idea i had was just to drop like 3-5 mountains in, and throw in Mass Hysteria.

And another thing i thought of that would go crazy... ECHOING COURAGE!!! :p That would kick ass in here.

Echoing Courage is nice :)

I figured Lifegift because all your going to be doing the first couple of turns is play mana acceleration.. and you don't want to pay a whole of mana for just a couple of Pegasus tokens.

Seems okay.
But If you are playing Boseiju, you have to put in a copy of Dovescape

Why is that?

Maybe I'm just a complete idiot (which is usually the case) but i dont see the synergy =P

Boseiju makes it so that you can keep your own instants and sorceries from being countered. Your opponent, on the other hand, has no way of getting around Dovescape.

hmm...I´m not much into the new cards, but as far as I can see, heartbeat of spring is good old mana flare in green disguise. So if you want to splash red, you might consider playing manaflare instead. Or you might play both :)

If you can make 10 mana, you might be able to make 8 for biorhythm too. More life - more creatures -more life -more creatures...

The really tough task is to gain so many life that storm herd makes sense. Actually, you cant. But you can try. I believe that the best life-gain-engine I know is land tax + ivory tower. Sun droplet can work wonders too. And then, of course, there are different infinite-life-comboes. Maybe they thought of storm herd as a wincondition for life-decks. Its so overcosted. Which decks can make 10 mana and still have enough life to make this playable? Only decks with infinite-life-combo.

Death grasp and drain-life-typespells fits fine, since x-spells tends to be insane with heartbeat of spring and mana flare. But then, why make Pegasi, when you can drain?

Or you could make some combodeck which plays glacial chasm, and is able to make 10 mana fast. 20 pegasi turn 1 or 2 is nice. But I guess I could find a better wincondition.

And the funniest thing is, when you play a non-creature spell you get the spell and the bird tokens. So, playing something like a Biorhytm will first give you eight bird tokens and then set you life to the number of creatures you have.

Yeah, it would be broken if it were more plausible. :D

I'd go with Mirari's Wake over Heartbeat of Spring. Also some quality lifegain effects to ensure that when you cast the Herd it is going to go off the chain.

Veldalken Orerry would be cool as well, this way you can cast the Herd as a EOT instant and immediately swing.
