This deck is built from the remains of a blue black cauldron deck, which slowly went down to one black card. It is a type II deck.
I've upped the number of creatures, and swamped in the Stinging Barriers for blocking and the Charisma.

The main combos are all in the artifacts, excluding the mana givers & the creatures if you get any two artifacts down they will cause problems of some sort. The main damage dealer is the Iron Maidens, this is my normal killer.
Do not play more than one cauldron at a time. Also do not play against decks with lots of one or two casting costs unless you have Ankh of Mishra down.
The Sky diamonds have upped the speed of the deck a bit, as have having only one type of land.

If you are playing casually, you should be able to get away with using 4 Lotus Petals. The logic being you are not splashing any colors, nor are you using Academy to drive some obscene engine.

Propaganda works well with Storm Cauldron, as well as defending you.

Replacing the Thran Golems with Viselings might be amusing. While the Viselings are smaller, they are living Black Vises...

A Hurkyl's Recall might save you an artifact or three in case of Shatterstorm and similar global destruction. It may force you to discard a bit, but you can save the key artifacts...

BTW -- is this deck for dueling or multiplayer games?

I would suggest using Tinker & Soothsaying to find your cards, lots of fast mana, and War Tax & Boomerang to defend with. Prosperity helps, too, but if you can lock your opponent out with the Tax you should have a pretty good shot. Casual gives you Hurkyl's Recall, Impulse, Evacuation & other goodies too.

The deck in it's old form was played in single or multi-player games. I had to stop playing in multies, as I became the target of all players, as soon as they got creatures down.

I looked at using the Viseling, but found it did not last long, 1 because it's too small as a blocker, 2 it's easy to toast.

Grim Mon's, I've only got 1 so I work without them
I'm also looking at changing the deck when the Urza's block drops, which I think is where most of the suggest cards came from, if they do not let me know. I have great trouble remembering which sets cards come from.

I will look at the Prop's but I do not know what to drop.
