My brother has a few kids over for a sleepover tonight. About 12:30 am, they wantd to play some Magic. I hadn't played since the Planeshift prerelease, but I agreed to take 'em on. I pulled out my old decks; first, we played some chaos. I won a couple games in a row, and all but one kid decided to retire for the night. That one, though, said he wasn't going to sleep until he won a game.

It's now about 3:30 am, and upwards of 20 games later... he's given up. I just kept on winning! It was great... ever have a spurt of games where you just felt like you couldn't possibly lose? Like when you're down at 5 life, your opponent has an Armadillo Cloacked bear and is at 35, you have nothing but land, and you still manage to pull it out? I still feel like I could play for another couple hours... Whotta rush.

WHEEEEEE!!!!!

Hehe...most people would use the expression "I fell like I could fly" in your situation, but I guess that is a common everyday thing for you ah Bird Boy:)

I don't think I have ever been in the zone(as they say in b-ball). In fact, a lot of the time, even if I win, I get the feeling that my deck is trying to screw me! 6 Plains and a Wild Growth......WTF! I won that game by the way:D

Anyway, like I was saying, I have never been in the zone, but I have played against someone who has been. He was playing this R/W deck with all kinds of cool stuff.....couple Swords.....couple Disenchants.....Shivan Gorge(you have NO idea how bad this can be).....Kor Haven.....

The thing was.....he only drew those cards when he needed them.....He had Gorges and Havens, but NEVER got mana screwed when it came to casting his Ball Lightnings. It really is a horrible feeling when someone has such good luck. I have lost about 20 games now because of a well timed, top-decked Disenchant.

I have to admit that by the end I was being a poor sport about it:( it just gets really frustrating. How did that kid react Apollo.....hoping I am the only cry-baby out there:)

I know exactly how you feel Appolo, but on the other end of the spectrum. Whenever I build decks, I concentrate too much on one aspect of the deck, like too many flyers, too much lockdown. So I'll beat a guy once or twice, but then he just whups up on me after that.
