They switched to a php from a shtml.
I have to use a g**d*** scroll bar because that stupid slide show and "Online Store" front takes up three inches too many.
And the page is slower, too.

While the look of the site is better, people with smaller resolutions will have to scroll just to read the articles.
Add to that frustration the fact that they are only archiving articles from the first of the year (yes, this year). I have a link to their article index, but that's not the point.

Do we really need Flash animations?
I also tried accessing it for a few hours in which the entire site was just one blank page with an invisible link somewhere.
However, I am glad that they link to articles from other sites, myself being too lazy to just go to Meridian. And it does look nice once it is loaded.

Good point: Like the new layout
Bad point: The frickin' scroll bar!
Good point: Links to other sites/card images
Bad point: They deleted almost everyting from the feature article archive...some people like to go back and reread those, like me.

While I think I like the new layout, even though I'll be stuck somewhere in the middle of the page (unless I write diatribes on real strategy....oooh, fun!), I am stuck scrolling like a monkey on my laptop. Bad news there. And you guys aren't the only ones that are annoyed by the disappearing archive. Flash should be reserved for sites that offer a little more risque content; there is no place for Flash on a Magic page. Change is annoying - at first. Perhaps we will all come to love it, but I doubt it.
If you are truly not pleased about the change, email The Ferrett. IF enough people bitch, changes might be made. Or maybe just give it some time to see if it grows on you like a festering pustule. OR something.

The resolution problems could be solved with a little JavaScript magic, I think. The page vcan be made to check each user's resolution and deliver an appropriately-sized page.
Surely something like this is in the works, so perhaps patience is called-for.
After all, The Ferrett has done so well thus far, transforming StarCity into a Premier Magic Site.

Well, I don't like it now, because I have to scroll and it's loading very slow... but
Next week, I'm moving back to college and my super-fast T1 connection and new computer, so then I'll say

Anyway, the point is, they should have an option of this new layout or old layout for people with slower connections.

I like it. I'm not experiencing any problems with it like yinz guys. But remember, I was one of the first to really like the CPA's new look too, I still do.

An actuary is a kind of number-cruncher, who applies statistical information to determine the probability of things you'd be insured for (fires, floods, illness, accidents, etc) and lets the insurance company know what they should charge you to be profitable.
