Though a shame, but we all have spent money on cards we sometime neglect to use (well, I do, anyway) and so I started building "Sub-Optimal" decks using my neglected cards. This deck, however, has found a permanant home among my tourney decks because of it's performance in multi-player games.
It's not a fast deck so if someone deceides to pick on me before I get to at least five mana, then I'm toast. But, when it does get cookin', I'm doin' pretty good. This deck has life gaining (Angel of Mercy & Bottle Gnomes), it's got card drawing (Accumulated Knowledge, Opportunity, Jungle Barrier & the blue kicker of Sunscape Battlemage), It also has pinging power (Rod of Ruin & Storm Spirit). I once heard that creture removal was good (Repulse & Treva's Charm). Tangle really annoys folks at the table because I may not just use it to defend myself but other folks I percieve as unintentional allies. I could use Treachery instead of Yavimaya's Embrace but the embrace's are more neglected than the Treachery's.
Thran Foundry, hmmm, I have yet to use it and it IS my 61st. card, maybe it could be replaced with the Dragon, Treva or Mahamoti Djinn.
Huh? I'm playin' Blue but not using counter magic? Well, in my group, hardly anyone palys multi- player decks with counter magic, besides, the 'rule of thumb' is: He who packs counter magic, is the first to be attacked.
I would like to give credit to the person who built this "PILE", me. Now don't you all copy it and claim credit for it
