Cool that Obliterate won! The artwork...who could have cared. Now, onto the current voting...

Natures's Revolt VS Natural Affinity

Is this a frikken joke!?! The enchantment has to win, hands down. Who would want that effect and only want it an instant? What a waste of a rare Affinity is!

Art: Shatter

Not so interesting. Shatter = poop. I don't care about this one much more than the steal artifact one. However, the Tempest art with a dying Manakin is the better of the three. The goblin one is the worst!

I prefer Natural Affinity. NEVER underestimate the surprise power of an army of 2/2s suddenly jumping down your throat.

Art...bah. The Tempest one looks more like an artifact than the destruction thereof, and the 5E one looks more like a burn spell than artifact destruction. Whereas the 7E one looks like a goblin going all Gallagher on some kinda device. 7E, most definitely

Hmm, I thought the one witht he shattering Manakin was the Tempest one. Okay, now that I figured out that error, yes, the Tempest one does look like crap.

The shattering artifact person, 5E, is the best one! :D

And I'd still much rather have the Revolt than Affinity. I like the repeated abuse of such things as Orcish Oriflamme and Overrun...turn after turn ;)

I want the Ice Age Shatter!

Oh well, I think I'll vote for Tempest because I sort of like that art, and because I don't like the excessively literal/realistic trend of 7E art (a picture of shatter doesn't have to involve what's being shattered, who shattering it, and the thing it's using to shatter it, and show the blow that's shattering it).

I voted Nature's Revolt, because it's an enchantment. I hope they use the Tempest art though.

It's starting to get boring again. I'm sticking to the dissolving Manakin. The green cards... you guys can have that vote. Augh.

Make us choose something substantial! When they ask for instant or enchantment, make us choose between Rancor and Berserk!

I picked Natural Affinity; the concept works best when the attack is a surprise one.

For art, I chose the one that looked like an artifact shattering (or an ordinary artifact, if you're Istanbul ;)). I also liked the "Goblin Gallagher" art, but I ended up voting for simplicity.

I haven't come up with a quote for Confiscate yet.

The enchantment costs 2 more mana and realistically gives your opponent the first opportunity to take advantage of a surprise attack. Outside of a (very) casual game, I have never seen any of the land enchantments being played.

Natural Affinity, on the other hand, while not a staple to Standard, has seen play in the past. The surprise defence is nice. The surprise attack with only 3 mana being used instead of 5. And, the fact that drawing multiple copies aren't dead cards actually makes it more playable (which is a bit odd, but true).

At any rate, I'm going with the Instant. Much more versitile.

No opinion yet, as I can't check crystalkeep right now to see what they actually are (not being familiar with them)... Revolt vs Affinity.

Natural Affinity baby, its a much better card. Being that its an instant (and cheap) its easy to play with mana creatures and swing big when your opponent is tapped out. Nature's Revolt you won't be able to use effectively the turn it comes into play, and since you probably tapped a good amount of mana you now have to worry about your opponent kicking your own but with it.

Nature's Revolt as an enchantment is better as a combo card, and I'll vote for versatility over combo ability every time.

Well, since you're playing green, hopefully you didn't use ALL land to cast Revolt... :)

But, unless you have some Overrun in mind or a use for the land to stay as creatures, I guess I'll agree with Affinity 'cause of the instant capability.

Actually I think Natural Affinity is better for combo than Nature's Revolt because it's cheaper and an instant, so it's easier to "go off."
Oh well.
I also liked Jokulhaups better.
Oh well.

Y'all are casual players but don't do casual combos?

Nature's Revolt + Serra's Blessing
Nature's Revolt + Knighthood
Nature's Revolt + Serra's Blessing + Knighthood
Serra's Blessing
1W, Enchantment, Classic Sixth Edition Uncommon
Attacking doesn't cause creatures you control to tap.

Knighthood
2W, Enchantment, 7th Edition Uncommon
Creatures you control have first strike.
Personally I like to have a lot of mana creatures out...a LOT. Then cast an enchantment like Revolt or Living Plane, and then cast Misfortune. Now THAT is a nice little casual deck. ;)

Sure we do, but when building casual decks it doesn't really matter to us what is in 8th edition, since we can pull cards from any card pool. But since the cards in 8th edition will have a direct effect on what's going to be in the new tournament scene I have to vote Natural Affinity since it can/would have a bigger impact on Type 2 play. And I'd have to say that this is really what the voting is all about - what's going to be available in type 2 for the next 2 years.

Regarding which is the better combo card, I personally consider Nature's Revolt a better combo card in general b/c you cast it one turn and then have it out to do the combo the next turn, or whenever you get the other piece(es). Natural Affinity requires the extra 3 mana handy and the other combo piece in hand. Pretty much its the enchantment vs. instant combo argument - like Necrologia vs. Yawgmoth's Bargain. With that said, I've had both in a Mass LD combo death and Natural Affinity was almost always better.

EDIT - Almost forgot, if I want first-striking lands I'm going to use the under-rated Natural Emergence from Planeshift, a mean little sucker. Requires you gate a red or green enchantment, but it doesn't turn your opponent's lands into critters. Speaking of which, I think I'm going to try a deck with this card.

I totally see your point now, Mikeymike. However, I have an equally viable reason: Easy access within the new sets and thus MTGO.

I'd like to build a Revolt deck in the near future. The bad things about cards that go out of print is their hard to track down. Sure, its in 7E, but I ain't buying that anymore. 8E I will buy some of, since it looks to be a promising set. There, I'd like to get my Revolts in. :D
I also have the same reasoning for MTGO. Right now am working on a "Meow Mix" deck there, but afterwards will work on other things, maybe the Revolt deck. I might not get to that until around the time of 8E launch, so I'd like the cards still easy to get. :D

Dang, two equally viable reasons going to vote. I just hope my side wins. ;)

Good point about MTGO SeFRo, but I'm biased against it since analog Magic does a fine job of emptying my wallet as it is. Kills me b/c I'm dying to play MTGO, but I know I'd end up joining some support group down the road like an MTGO players annoymous group.

Surprise surprise, this one turns out to be one of the more interesting votes (in my mind at least, b/c I like both cards).
