Hello everyone, here is the list of a deck that a friend and I made for another friend(ahh, what one should do for the sake of friendship), you see, he said that he wanted a multiplayer deck, with a lot of tricks, and he really loves angels(well he drool over almost every women, but that´s hardly the point)well, first of all, here´s the decklist:

Seize The Angels

creatures:
4 - Serra´s Angel
4 - Diving Griffin
4 - Ligthning Angel

Artifacts:
4 - Howling Mine

Instants:
1 - Mystical Tutor
1 - Enlightened Tutor
3 - Swords To Plowshares
2 - Radiate

Sorceries:
3 - Earthquake
3 - Seize of the Day
2 - Gamble

Enchantments
3 - Stasis
3 - Seal of Cleansing

Lands:
5 - Plains
4 - Forsaken City
6 - Mountains
2 - Plateau
2 - Flooded Strand
2 - Coastal Tower
3 - Islands

here´s how the deck works:

you play the angels, cast a seize the day and then you radiate the seize(it´s a multiplayer deck) and get a lot of combat phases and kill a lot of people in the table, but the radiate never works, so i post the deck so maybe somebody would give me suggestions about what should replace radiate

i apreciate any constructive criticism(and destructive too!!, bring it on!!!...just kidding), and any other suggestions, we here are open minded(wel, unless you say something like "why dont you play the power nine?", we dont play the power nine because we dont have it, heck, we dont even have one piece of the jewerly)wel, any sugestion would be apreciated.

Why doesn't the radiate work?...

I will say that I'm not seeing enough blue mana, or "bounce" to aid the stasis along - so maybe something like capsize can take it's place.

As for the other cards in the deck - Humble is a great card to use for "tricks..."

And if you're trying to build up attack phases - something like Waylay wouldn't be bad... just run an enchantment that gives creatures haset and you have 3 more 2/2's attacking...

If the radiate doesn't work - there's always aggravated assault...

I like Seize the Day/Radiate combo, pretty slick! But it is extremely mana intensive and very difficult to get to work properly.

Instead of these 5 cards (or maybe in addition to the Seizes) you can run the new Savage Beating. When entwined, at a reasonable 7 mana, it gives you 4 damage dealing steps. Also, unlike Seize the Day (and cards such as Relentless Assault) since the first damage dealing swing is first-strike damage your creatures are much more likely to survive to the next round.

Also, since you'll often be wiping the board clean of ground creatures, you can use Academy Rector to fetch Stasis/Seals.

I'm not sure about Gamble in here, it makes me nervous.

The stasis works fine because of the forsaken cities, train.

However, if you're rolling with Forsaken cities, you'll want more card drawing, also, you might could just drop to 3 cities and throw in another basic land. (My rule of thumb is that anything you don't want to have two of in play/hand should be relegated down to 3 copies max).

Also, the Radiate combo is great fun, but's it's too mana intensive.

Mikey's Savage Beating suggestion is excellent, just swap out the radiate's for those and keep the three seizes. After that, I'd drop the gambles and the tutors for actual card drawings. This isn't really a combo or toolbox deck - simply having more cards is better for you than losing a card to stack the top of your deck. You might only need two seals, also.

So that free's up 5 card slots. Since this is type 1, if you got Ancestral recall, go for it :D! But I assume you, like the rest of us, don't. Since you've got howling mines already, you might want two counterspells of some kind, just to give you an answer against the occasional game-breaking spell. I suggest Arcane Denial. The other three slots could be inspirations or opportunities or impulses or fire/ice.

Solid deck overall, though!

Angel decks, who loves Angel decks:rolleyes: :D

But seriously I think savage beating is worth a look. As a different or additional creature look at Tempest Drake. Also look at Undiscovered Paradise for land, a pair pay for Stasis forever.

Instead of stasis think of WinterOrb which works nicely with Blinding Beam

its a 2/2 flyer that doesn't tap to attack. not affected by earthquake or stasis.

rkoelsch is right about Tempest Drake. This and the Griffin are essential the same creature, though in a 3-color deck this might be slightly easier to play. Undiscovered Paradise is also a great idea.

I agree with Rooser about card drawing vs. tutor. Maybe something like Rhystic Study? It is an extremely good MP card on it's own, but once Stasis is in play I'm trying to figure out if it is good or bad. It is bad in that they are unlikely to be casting many spells, but its good in that when they do you're nearly guaranteed the extra cards.

It doesn't have any sort of upkeep or any other obligation. The number of spells will be lowered overall, but with MP, you're still going to get some most likely. I'd try it...

well, i think that i should put some more card drawers, and about the gamble, i dont like it either, is just that , actually there is no logical reason for the gamble, maybe more card drawers would be nice. about the stasis, i like its interaction with the forsaken, but maybe ill throw a capsize or two

What about using old fashion Smoke instead of Stasis? Not quite the hardlock but on the flip side neither are you locked.

And since the current card of love in this thread seems to be Savage Beating why don't we abuse a little piece of equipment too...ooh say Spellbinder?

HAAY! What if we imprinted Spellbinder with Savage Beating.....wouldn't that..yes! That would be infinite combat steps!

Wow that works out so well you might have thunk I've already done that already ;)

i dont kno what to tell you. but i juss wanna kno, whats synergy?

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Synergy in the case of Magic is cards working together to produce a more powerful effect so that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

A good example of synergy is the famous/infamous Donate + Ilusions of Grandeur combo.
