Yeah, I'm really sad about the degrade of mtgnews. I only go to the Rumors and Storyline forums anymore.

Just wait'll he gets a load of us...;)

Gobo, I've had enough. This makes 5 posts of yours I've had to edit tonight, and pal, I've got better things to do with my time. Straighten out your act and stop using profanity, or I'll see to it you're banned from here so fast it'll make your keyboard spin...

MTGNews never had good forums. Hordes of nasty horrible people.

I go there just for the news and for their excellent spoiler generator. ;)

Just calm down Gobo and you'll be fine. I'm not sure what pissed you off at MTGNews.com, but you could be better off here. Could be, depending on your attitude. From what I've just read of what you've posted, you're digging yourself a pretty deep hole already. But, if you're saying you were just pissed off at mtgnews.com and it was just yesterday, then show it.

Plus, I know you've been told this already, but profanity is not tolerated.

Oink!ing right. If I see one more Oink!ing Oink! posting immature Oink!ing Oink!stain comments using words like Oink!, Oink!, Oink!, Oink!, Oink!er, Oink!nut, or slapOink!... I swear I`ll just rip the Oink!er`s Oink! off and shove the Oink! right up hisOink!ing Oink!.

As Faarooq would say: "Oink!"

I guess one more isn't as bad as it sounds...this place is not much better than MTGnews pal...here, instead of profanity, we use big words and damaging phrases that are just as insulting if not more so.

I don't even know why you people bother censoring any of that stuff. Everyone knows what the f*** is being said anyway, and right now, for example, I just used the first letter.

Anyway you do it, you'd be doin' it...and everyone knows what it means. Censoring is for those who like to pretend they're wise or something...

And as for "oink," sorry...that's just as bad. And worse: lame and overused, like Gizmo may have suggested above.

[DÛke, it ain't no better when you do it, no matter how "cute" you make it look - TomB]

I can't speak for MTGNews, myself, but we try to keep it relatively PC here. That's, from what understand, one of the major differences with this board as opposed to some of the others. Instead, "we use big words and damaging phrases that are just as insulting if not more so."

It's our way...:p

you cant even do that on mtgnews if you are caught insulting some one even once you would be banned or suspended. but you could get away with swearing because they block it.

'We' don't block profanity. We OINK! it, or another assorted animal noise.

Insults are usually very discreet here. Usually in our arguments we don't attack the person, we attack the argument and sources the person's foundation of argumentation is on. It's much better than what most forums do-- more civilized and generally acceptable in the world.

Oh, and for the record I didn't say we insult anyone. I said "we use big words and damaging phrases that are just as insulting if not more so.", but I was just quoting DÛke when I did so...:p

Just for the record, I find the interjection of animal noises much more distracting and offensive than the most foul string of obsenity that could be uttered by a drunken irish pirate.

But that's just me.

My oink has everyone riled up! Woo-hoo!

Obviously the easiest solution is not to bring down the power of the oink in the first place, but then, that's too easy, right?
