I was really excited to try this deck out because it's probably my second favorite PDH deck after the Khabal Ghoul deck. Well, I got ran over by a token swarm super early. My friend built a deck helmed by Evangel of Heliod and it popped off. Defensive capabilities of this deck might need to be better. It durdled. But this is another one where the game was over quickly and I didn't get much value out of it as a test.

Lost another game with this deck, but it was generally better. I feel like I misplayed this one more than the deck failed me here. After an opponent exiled my Expedition Map to stop me from being able to assemble the Urzatron, I used Chromatic Sphere as a draw engine. I built up a modest defensive board state and tried to let my opponents slug it out against each other. I could have killed one opponent with Blazing Torch, but I deemed it unnecessary. Seeing that I'd have lethal damage against him on my next turn with the Torch, he went in against me with trample damage I couldn't survive. He managed to protect himself from our other opponent, so it worked out for him. But yeah, I should have sequenced this one differently. Oops.

In Barbed Sextant we trust.

This deck finally scored a win. I was in a packed pod: five players. I managed to use Shield Sphere and Welding Jar to hold off some early attacks, but one opponent became the archenemy at the table. When I was desperate, I activated Barbed Sextant a bunch and filled my hand with copies of Plains (my opponents didn't know that when I drew 7 random cards, 6 of them were basic Plains). A plucky minotaurs deck somehow killed the top deck at the table. So it was down to just the two of us, and I managed to create a loop with Barbed Sextant + Foundry Inspector + Dross Scorpion + Sisay's Ring. I had Goblin Firebomb in hand already for protection, compromised his attack by getting rid of his commander at the beginning of combat, and withstood his attack. On my own turn, I set up a combo with Antler Skulkin + Arcbound Prototype + Ashnod's Altar to modular a few billion +1/+1 counters onto my artifact creatures.

The Tentacled One
Played this deck in an epic five-player game last night over the course of about four hours. Initially, I played a lot of do-nothing artifacts and couldn't get much of a board state going. Some of my potential blockers were being picked off and I was stuck on only three lands for far too long, but opponents were content to kill my creatures and attack each other rather than going after my life total. I finally built up a board, but Mike was able to swing in with a 24-power trampling commander and I had to give up all of my creatures except for my own commander in order to absorb the trample, so I was set back again. Through Candy Trail, Conjurer's Bauble, and Chromatic Star I was able to get some card-drawing set up and eventually I was able to scry my way into assembling the Urzatron as well as building up a new array of blockers. These held the fort while two opponents were eliminated, and my engine finally let me pull ahead, using Dross Scorpion to untap Sisay's Ring and loop multiple artifacts with Auriok Salvagers. I had Lunatic Pandora to deal with big commanders coming at me and I had Ashnod's Transmogrant, Welding Jar, and Antler Skulkin to protect my white creatures. I used Golem Foundry to become the dominant force at the table, but drew into Everflowing Chalice and was able to loop Chromatic Star to draw through my deck and go infinite, right on the same turn when my finite engine was about to make Golem Foundry lethal anyway.
