School is almost done! On to Europe!

After Nine months of college at Georgia Southern, I'm ready to go back home for a little R&R.

Tomorrow is my last final-Economics- and I'm almost finshed packing. No more dorms for me(I'll be in an apartment next year). AND I passed my Voice Studio Level, so I get to do harder pieces, now.

I'm just so relieved that all of this weight is off my shoulders...for now. I'm only going to get a week of rest before I go back to Georgia Southern. No, I'm not taking Summer courses. I'm going on a Study Abroad tour of Europe for about a month. Which means(Dun-dun-duuuuun) that I won't be on-line for the long. This won't be like last year in Hawaii, where there will be an internet cafe across the street from where I work. I won't be able to access the internet due to the fact that I will be studying in monastaries in 4 german/czech towns. Once in a while, we'll stay at a large city on our way through, so I'll get to post about once every week or so, put I'm not sure about it.

Anyhow, Ransac is going overseas for the second summer in a row and I'm going to document it on here as best I can.

You know, it just seems like yesterday when you were afraid you weren't going to be able to post because you were going to college :)

How'd that frat thing turn out, anyway?

Glad you asked. I've been a proud brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia for about a month now. My fellow brothers have been really cool, too.

That sounds really cool Ransac. I hope you have fun abroad.

On a semi-related note I had three finals today and I still have to take one on next Wed. Then I get to leave for the summer.

I just took my economics final and beat the living crap out of it!

Okay, the teacher gave us a study guide that had all the questions that were going to be on the final. 100 questions. I would really like a B in the class and the only way I can do that is if I get an A on the final. So, I type out a page with the numbers 1-100 and printed it out about 7 times. That way, I can use the study guide to take the test several times before the actual final.

So, about 40 minutes ago, I walk into my final, praying that I get a good grade. 20 minutes laters, I finish all 100 questions, turn in my final, and kick my heels. I've got an A. No way I don't have it.

Plus, a few minutes ago, I was checking my GPA average for last semester because I did something to change it. Do to a miscommunication at the registrar's office, I accidentally took a class that I didn't need(because I already took it in community college) and got a D in the class. Well, after a couple weeks of talking with people in high places, they decided to count that class as a withdrawal. I check my GPA. It was a 3.06. Now, it's a 3.43. I'm exstatic because it's gets better. I know what my grades are going to be this semester(around a 3.1something). I had 16 hours last semester and I have 14 hours this semester, adding to a total of 30.

Here's the cool part. In the state of Georgia, there is a a scholarship called the HOPE scholarship. It goes to all high school graduate students that graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher. While in college, it pays for books and tuition. Let me say it again. Tuition. I like the sound of that. How does this affect me. Well at the end of each semester, HOPE also checks all college student GPA to see if they have reached 30 hours. If the have and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, they gain the HOPE scholarsihp until they reach the next 30, when HOPE checks again.

In short, I'm getting the HOPE scholarship for next year.

*Ransac laughs maniacally, falls on the floor, and runs in circles.*

Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with myself.

Mom already knows. Plus, if you think I'm doing any work(besides the painting of the room, of course, you're crazy. After the week I've had and the weeks that will follow shortly, I'm taking a well deserved R&R break for a few days.

YOU GOT THE HOPE!

WAY TO GO, BOY!

Nice job... I wish the Hope actually worked for me... but I think a year then getting a job will be more my style... Hopefully a place around Atlanta will pick me up.

Have you gotten any of your frat brothers to play Magic or is that just too "geeky" for the Greek system? :p

We have a HOPE scholarship in Maryland but it only applies if you're going into teaching... :(

As it turns out, at least one of my frat brothers already knows how to play. AND, he'll be going on the Europe trip, so I may bring a few decks along.
