Heh, I was reading through my guestbook for my site and Orgg mentioned that Rizzo of Star City once dumped on the CPA.

Can anybody clue me in on when this happened or what article this appeared in? I'd like to see what/how he did dump on the CPA.

And to Orgg...hey man, sorry about the offensive rant. An error with my site wiped them out and a lot of other stuff. ;)

I don't see where Rizzo dumps on the CPA in that link. I see where orgg is mentioned as a deck contributer to Alongi's contest though...

Rizzo posted here a couple times last year? in fact... nothing really bad to say either.

At first glance I see the Good Reverend has provided a link to an Alongi article. Hmm. I shall give it a good read-through.

Thank you much, Good Reverend! God Bless! She loves you!

But seriously--is there an article where that happened? Or was Orgg talking about a forum post or email conversation or something???

Hey, Orgg, can you shed some light?

In his fairwell to Ferrett, one of the reasons Rizzo said that he was leaving Magic was, and this is a quote, Spidy, so no editing.

Originally by Friggin'Rizzo in his resignation letter to Ferrett that got published without his consent
"...The CPA is ****..."
Later, I e-mailed him with a heartfelt letter that finished with a big "#uck You." at the end. He apologised. The thread is in the archives of the CPA, with all the corrispondence quoted.

Hmm, odd that the shiny-headed one would take a shot at the CPA. I'm gonna go look it up and read it.

Thanks much, Orgg!!! :D

I didn't even know (or maybe I did, but don't remember) that Rizzo left Magic - maybe that's why I don't recall this.

Well, he left and then came back. When he did leave, it was mysterious, and then Ferrett did this huge memorial week at SCG. Caused an uproar. But in Rizzo's farewell letter he did say CPA was crap, but that was among many other insults. From reading it, it seems he was trashing the whole Magic internet community as a whole, and the CPA was among the honorees.

Its a sign the CPA is definitely recognized...though not respected. Damned elitist pro sharks.

Though I must say I like it here. Awesome to see a lot of articles on the front page! Orgg is wrong about Beeble, but what the hell? I loved reading that article a million times more than some dry tourney report on SCG or BrainBurst.

Things are improving. Now, if only Nightstalkers would write we'd have a new Quard!!

*Places vote for Nightstalkers to become the MTG net communty's new and improved Quard.*

Well, are we not "respected" because we don't give deck advice about pro/tourney decks? If so, I can live with that... seeing how the Bosh deck that other members came up with closely resembled the one that won at some States, I don't have any worries about the creativity or the ability of our members to compete if they chose.

I'm certainly glad the front page is picking up with train, HOUTS, and yourself writing, although I'm still hoping for some more regulars...

More writing coming...

And as for respect - it's not that we're not respected, it's that we're focused on something else... and that something else is not what some people are looking for when they want to discuss Magic.

I will say, that according to some of the current and legacy members of this site, that most of us view it as a game and only a game among other aspects of our lives, while some focused on the pro/tourney aspect view it as a way to make money, and possibly a career...

Casual players tend to be able to "walk away" from the game a little easier than tourney players... while tourney players have a tendency to walk away from foul aromas in the air at premier events...if, and only if, they lost and wouldn't make the top 8...:p

"It's not respect that matters... it's how you rule your world!..."

train, Houts, sometimes Orgg, and that one cheater guy heh. ;)

I rather like the whole different outlook of this site. I was looking through the classic Dojo archives and seeing how there was such a rift between casual and tourney players. It was funny to see Cathy Nikoloff commenting in one of the first issues discussions on that site about "fun" players.

Ah, brings back memories! I remember calling casual fun instead...

"FUN" Magic involves co-eds and twister...

HOUTS has written for every second-string site out there, until a disagreement or site death drives him elsewhere.

Spidy, it might give content, but the content is only a puff of hot wind. Then again, since his blow up about editing out profanity and trashing us at the MiseTings forums, I refuse to read his stuff anymore, anyway.

I'm thinking about what kind of article I can wright. Since that Sliver article gets some mention every so often, I might have to wright something on that race...
