Took it to a 14 man tourn. this weekend. Played:

Fresh Volunteers/Steadfast Guard
Is simply a matter of casting costs. I don`t rate the Guards ability at all highly and with my version more counter-heavy I need more blue more mana in the deck, making it hard (and unwise) to have WW availble turn 2 to cast Guard. Maybe 1 Guard to search for, but I think you are more likely to be cursing the WW casting cost as it sits in your hand than you are singing the praises of it not tapping to attack.

Gliders
No idea why you would want these. The Thermal is all but useless (if they have red burn, they`ll not be wasting it on a 2/1 flyer that can`t Chain), and the Nightwind is poor compared to Lightbringer as this deck doesn`t like Nether Spirits very much. Or Plague Spitters.

Bruiser
Random bit of tech. Since Shivan Wurms went in the Queen has become less of a house vs Fires, and the Bruiser`s ability is a bit of random 'SURPRISE' trickery they won`t be bargaining on - I think you can expect a lot of games to be won by the sudden appearance of a 3/4 guy who takes out two blockers at the end of your opponent`s turn. Nether Spirit? Where... Vanguard? I don`t see any Vanguards in my way...

Basically the mirror is weakened by you not having 26 land in this version, but the mirror is not strictly mirror anyway as you are likely to be more aggressive, still I would consider your main SB aim to be breaking the mirror to some degree.

But I`m working on 7th Ed Chain Rebels, no bears in this version:

This list is ok - it`s got potential but for now I`m unhappy with it`s ability to play through if it doesn`t get a good draw as it is very dependent on the rebels for card advantage - looking for FoF space. Also I`ve cut the chain down very small, and it might be wise to go to two Skymarshalls. I need to see what comes from 7th to see if I like the Dismantling Blows enough, and the Stand/Deliver have to prove their worth (never bad, rarely great).

NB:
Neither of these decks use non-basic lands with effects as Tsabo`s Webs are starting to crop up, especially in the TurboHaups decks. There seems to be a general expectation that a number of players will audible to TurboHaups so if I were you I`d pack some Chills SB for that matchup. At least YOU don`t have to worry about playig against f***ing Disorder!
