tis a little bit bigger than 60, but hey... what can you do?

help me out a little cutting it. the rats need to stay because if the number is lowered then you slow your draw down Big time.

coat of arms makes it crazy. and if you have the coat out or u r in a desperate situation, you could run dual nature.

Add another Aluren, drop a reflecting pool.

Have you looked into City of Brass as opposed to the Llanowar for the Pentad Prism/Reflecting Pool idea?

Not much I could say for the deck, otherwise.

Dude what's Pentad Prism? I searched for it and came up with nothing. Even searched for just plain'ol Prism and recieved nothing even vaguely similiar.

I think you might look into increasing your swamp count if you wish to use tainted field effectivily. Also should it be Tainted Wood?

Maybe run something like:

10 Swamps
4 Forest

As you're only running a total of 6 green cards and only one of which (Aluren) has a difficult casting cost with 2GG.

Looking at your deck there just has to be some way to play all your rats and then finish of the combo for the kill..not just wait to attack with 26 28/28 rats, hmmm....

Greater Good! Sac a 17/17 Rat, discard 3 cards hold the remaining 14.....maybe have Anger in here to attack that round...hmm... I'll get back to on this.

Here's what I came up with (and will most likely be my first Rat deck). Don't know why it diidn't hit me before but use Tendril's Storm for the combo kill. Works well in multiplayer as well. Because chances are you'll be able to play if not your entire deck but at least 95% percent once the pieces are in place. With possibly over 23+ spells on the stack you can do some serious syphoning of life :) Heck you might even be able to CHAIN the two tendrils..cast 1 for 24 Tendrils then the second thanks to fastbond for 49 Tendrils!!! That'd be f'ing awesome!

I'm thinking the greater good while more expensive will produce more consistency with the draw. Afterall with Kavu Lair out there's a great possibility of stall.

I used Greater Good in a sneak attack deck with multiple fatties in it with great success.

Dropped the Prism as I haven't the foggiest clue as to what it did.

If you're going to use a mostly Black, slightly green deck in T1, why aren't there dual lands?

;)

Dude power is through the roof right now. I remember I paid roughly 120-140 for each of my moxes...not the 200+ they're going for now and drains fhugetaboutit! I got my drains all 4 for under 120 hee hee :)

I said a long time ago that Type1 cards are increasing in price here at the CPA and no one paid attention...

Ah, so you did mean Type 1 "power" cards.

I think people paid attention as seen by the replies, it's just that there's not a whole lot of people here to begin with (some seem to not be here lately, like Hetemti from the replies) and of those people, less play Type 1 and of those, less play with the power cards :)

The man base is a challenge. Mayby drop pentad prism? It´s not a good card. It´s a stone, which only lasts for 2 taps. Ok, it makes the color you need, but I´m not sure that this combo is so stable that 2 taps is enough.
I do respect the problem getting 2 green mana, but maybe you should use the old ice age artifact (i dont remember the name), which cost 1 to play, 1 and sac to activate, and makes one mana of the color of your choice + draw a card? Its reprinted with another name I think -probably with the addition that you draw the card NOW, and not in next upkeep. You only need 2 green mana once.

Also, as reverend love points out, theres a problem with tainted wood (?). They work well with duals and fetch, but not with painlands and reflecting pool. Some duals WOULD help a lot, since you then could play natures lore and/or land grant.


You need some card drawing. Greater good is interresting, but you need 3 rats in play to make it work well. Necropotence, skeletal scrying and maybe others would be nice to get started.

Maybe 1 caller of the hunt for fun? It´s just a rat which doesnt count itself, but its green...and doesnt cost 2 black mana.

the prism doens't Tap to activate, it's just "Remove a counter: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool".

it's a quick bomb.

Turn 1: Swamp - go
Turn 2: Tainted wood - prism for 2 - go
turn 3: Alluren, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, ra......


ok so i have 21 rats now, so somebody needs to help me come up with a good explosive decklist

Crazy idea would be to skip black. How is is the usual alurencombo goes? Something with cavern harpy and raven familiar I think.

Nova, I've edited my previous post with a decklist which looks pretty good I think. Of course I don't know until I actually run it.

Dude congrats on getting that many Rats. They're expensive as heck on Ebay. I've seen 40 go for 120 dollars!!!
