As hard as I try, I can't make a R/G basic deck. (and by basic, I mean makable in any set)
I've tryed to look at their main themes....
Red - Burn, land destruction, haste
Green - Mana, big creatures, pumpers
I'm
I could see beatdown, but reds creatures are pretty bad.
The I thought of a land destruction/creation deck, but how could that help me?
I am out of ideas! Please give me some good, basic deck ideas.

Please help the total newbie. :D

I'm asking you for some good, basic deck ideas. (and by basic, I mean one that could be used in any set)
I don't really want a deck list though, just ideas.

Please help the total newbie. :D

okay, you want a generic formula? DOn't yell at me, this is just a general outline. change it when you need to, or even want to:

Red:
4 Instant Damage (Cheap)
4 Instant Damage (Midrange)
4 Solutions (Cheap-mid. ex: pillage, scorching lava, etc.)
3 Wide-range damage (Mid. ex: Earthquake)

Green:
8 Small creature (1cc)
4 pump (cheap)
4 Small creature (2cc)
4 Mid creatures (3cc)
4 big creatures (4cc +)
2 Solutions (Mid. Ex: Creeping mold)

19 land

suggestion: use 4 llanowar elves as 4 small creatures.

land destruction: you'd have to reach back a bit for Thermokarst or even Ice Storm, but the idea would use red and green for the LD and red for removal and a couple big creatures from red or green for a finisher

critter deck: kinda like Duel's; just pick out creatures, watching the mana curve, and use green for boosters and red for removal

Special themes: You could go elves and red for removal, or goblins and green for boosters.

You pretty much need red for removal as green hardly has any, except for enchantment stuff.

Here's the basic r/g deck now:

Bore-o-Derm
4 llanowar elves
4 river boa
4 Blastoderm
4 Shock
4 Assault/battery
4 Seal of fire
2 Earthquake
4 Chimeric idol
3 Wild might
3 Kavu Chameleon
3 Saporling burst
3 Fires of Yavimaya

1 Keldon necropolis
4 Kjeldoran forests
8 forests
7 Mountains

notice how closely this follows the archetype.

now, t1 r/g speed is different: Smaller, and better:

4 Jackal pups
4 Llanowar elves
4 giant growths
4 Lightning bolts
4 kird apes
4 Briar shield
4 Rancor
4 Cursed scroll
4 Fireblast
4 Albino Troll
4 Elvish spirit guide
4 g/r dual lands
4 Kjeldoran forest (Whatever this is)
4 Forests
4 Mountains

this doesn't follow my style, relying instead on winning early and just dealing the final blow directly. Pick and choose which one you want, be warned, though, this one is much more difficult to make, though easier to play.

red-green landy ain't bad, but at the time you hav d land/mana advantage, you can cast a wildfire or Armageddon like in my deck:

skyshroud elf(for red/white mana conversion)
Armageddon(for a slowdown of your opponent and surprise)
Wildfire
artifact mana(in case you'll have 'geddon or wildfire)
Landy creatures: Argothian Wurm, Avalanche riders, Thresher Beast, Blastoderm(they will be d only ones who should survive in a Wildfire, or an Ernham Djinn)...

i dunno, it's effective for me, and evryone's angry at me after i take control of the game...
well, there's the flexible Pillage...

if ur into creatures, put a keldon warlord

or put Wrath of God then cast a Llurghoyf...

ooops, i forgot, you need a r/g deck... sorry!

...is really hard to come by now-a-day. A reason I could think of is because there are much better Black/Green and White/Green decks out there: Snuff-O-Derm and Blast-O-Geddon. Notice how they both contain Blastoderm.

If Red/Green exists, it would be something like LD/Fire/Blastoderm.
