Razormane Masticore/ Engineered explosives / auriok champion

Anyone seeing a price increse on these bad boys?


i've got 6 masticores, 4 explosives (and a 5th is foil) and 4 champions. just waiting for the prices to jump MUCHO GRANDE on them all.

i'm gunna start picking up champion's cheap.

I don't see Engineered Explosives increasing in price anytime soon. They're decent in standard but with Powder Keg, and Deed running around extended they're no need to turn to EE. Also the entire mechanic of Sunburst limits their potential...eeh.

Razormane...I'm kinda sitting on the fence to be honest. It's possible he'll find his way into a decklist here or there but I don't really see this card being chase for any other reasons other then the name "Masticore" on the top right. He's decent no doubt but with Goblins and Affinity with potential Tooth and Nail running around in Standard I don't see him finding a niche. As for Extended...not while older brother is legal will Razormane be used.

Potential combo card here...eeeh. It's definitely better then Soul Warden due to having protection from the two most aggressive colors in magic. Maybe we'll see some Incubator-Ageless Entity-Champion craziness but I doubt it. Casual Staple...probably not much more.

Reality Twist only messes with some decks...

Parallax Tide is still very tempting with Hub and the other Parallax cards wouldn't be bad either, but I don't know if any of the other echo stuff works...

Here's why it works with Echo...

502.19a - Echo is a triggered ability. "Echo" means "At the beginning of your upkeep, if this permanent came under your control since the beginning of your last upkeep, sacrifice it unless you pay its mana cost."

Although train might have thought you were asking strictly a rules question as opposed to whether the other echo cards have synergy with the Hub (which is what I gather you were asking).

I think Engineerd Explosives will be a very solid card, but I doubt "chase" level. Kind of like what Pernicious Deed leveled off to.

It is a solid and viable alternative to Deed/Keg, being that it is a targeted/immediate pop instead of a sweep or a targeted/building pop.

In Type 1 Competitive the colored mana should never be an issue, and unlike the Keg it is actually viable to use for more than 0 counters.

I think the surprise cards in the set might be Mycosynth Golem, Beacon of Creation, Artificer's Intuition (Survival for Artifacts!), and Silent Arbiter.

I disagree, but you do raise good points. Powder Keg is definitely viable for more than zero though...

I guess I can see how you might have thought that, although it didn't look to me like it could be intepreted that way until Spidey pointed it out. Yes, I was referring to whether or not the other echo cards would be good enough with Hub to use, as Spidey gathered. I DO know how Hub works and how fading works as well.

Actually I want some hubs for a green stompy deck... Not paying echo on the troll, jaguar, or acridian or other cards is wrong... No damage from the nettletooth...

I came up with it while going through boxes, and boxes of commons that I was going to mass sell...

Wild Dogs, Erhnam Djinn, Ghazban Ogre... Albino Troll, Simian Grunts... Cumulative upkeep enchantments...

I have no idea how to narrow down the field of possibilities - but will of course do so in order to build the deck...

Oh my GAWD!!! - The ideas keep coming to me... Just think of how the hub works with Solitary confinement...
