**Do you remember the old Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books? You'd read a section, then select the main character's next action by turning to a specific page?

Read the story, then vote on what coarse of action you think the story's hero should take. I'll wait a few days inbetween voting before I post the next story section.**

You wake up to find yourself lying on the ground, face down in a pool of brown muck.

The last thing you remember is the long, quiet ride out of the city and into the wilderness. You recall the sounds of birds and the soft whisper of the wind stiring the green leaves of the forest.

You then remember the Gate of Hagnoros. You recall it's cold iron bars and carved ivory teeth, all in the shape of a huge demonic mouth, gaping and straining to swallow anyone foolish enough to enter Hagnoros's tomb. You can hear the words of your master fading into the back of your mind "We practitioners of the magical arts need no such baubles and gawdy treasure..."

You then remember the stories of the ancient treasures hidden deep in those catacombs. The tales of mounds and piles of gold and precious stones seemed like too much to resist. And it was too much, in the end, for you defied your master's words and rode deep into the country side searching this tomb out.

And now, here you are. When you entered the Gate, you recall the sound of the iron bars slamming shut, trapping you inside. As you stand, your head realling from the knock you took on your way to the floor, you see behind you the closed gate. The bars are too tight to squeze through. You feel the wind from the woods outside mix with the stale air inside the mouth of the tomb.

In this entrance way, scatered about the floor are piles of filth and debris. Some piles look like rags and skeletal bodies, other ones are even more foul. At the back of the room is a thin stone staircase leading down, the walls around it covered in moss and mold, and dripping water seeps from the stone.

Choose Your Path...

A. Run to the closed gate and screem into the woods for help, just in case there is someone out there.

B. Search through the fetid piles of filth and debris that litter the floor of this entrance room.

C. Light a torch and stride boldly down the stairs and into the darkness.

Feel free to post sugestions and discuss the options, also, as I planned to post each section in a different thread...so that there is a fresh Poll on which to vote.

I thought you were just going to take the majority vote.

Well, I voted for searching the place first. You might find something useful before charging in.

I am just going to go with whatever gets the most votes, but I did not know if anyone would want to discss the options first, and maybe talk someone into or out of a vote before they cast it.

I don't know...I'm just making this up as I go.

Unless you're on a clock, it's usually a good idea to look before you leap...

You never know what you might find ;)
