This deck was specifically designed to hose certain types of decks.. but mainly to use fav cards of mine.

Swarm, Tooth and Nail, 1,000/1,000 creature, artifact heavy, turn 3 kill? read on..

11 Mountains
11 Swamps

Gold:
3 Fire Covenant (Fireball for 1BR, pay life, hit a mog maniac with it to deal 19 damage to opponent)

3 Backlash (1BR, instant, tap that 15/15 to have ur opponent take 15 damage)

3 Terminate

Red:
2 Smoke (RR, one creature untaps per turn)
3 Mogg Maniac (Slows Big attackers for 1-4 turns)
2 Arc Lightning
2 Shattering Pulse (buyback artifact kill)
3 Searing Rays (dmg per cr in a swarm)
3 Fickle efreet (attack with them, then maybe seizures or backlash them when your opponent attacks)

Black:
4 Seizures (Amazing)
4 Fevered Convulsions
4 Consumptive Goo
2 Screams from Within (pick off 20 1/1s)

Remember that since they both happen at the same time, you can activate a goo on itself and it becomes a 2/2 at the end of your turn.

ideally i should probably take out 1 convulsion and 1 goo for 2 more screams... cause 2 screams in play is awesome...

Also considered Stronghold Discipline

Other ridiculous cards that are simply unfair would be to run:

Price of Progress 1R Instant
2 damage for each nonbasic

and Ancient Runes 2R Enchantment:
at each players upkeep they take damage = to number of artifacts they control.

comments?

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Hard to tell how the deck would look in action...

But it looks like it lacks focus and beats a relatively narrow set of opponents pretty well, but mostly loses to certain cards...

what about a mana engine to feed the goo a little faster, and you could run some Flings, in case they have blockers you can't get rid of...;)

Mana engine would help, but for monoblack what would i use? From what i can remember my choices are black market, black mana battery, and that altar of shadows :/

As far as matchups, ive slaughtered an affinity/cranial plate deck, evenly matched with a hatred tempest block deck, demolished a couple elf decks.. its like this

the way to beat this deck is to have 1 creature that is untargetable, and if you race me with that one, before i get a fanatic, thats pretty much the way to win.. so like.. maybe a harbinger of night...
but yea.. a lightning greaved 1/1 gives me problems :D

Direct damage usually hurts a bit but even against a 24/1 piledriver a single backlash helps

You can easily deal with untargetables through a wall of shadows or will-o-the-wisp... small, but effective... Even engineered plague and pox work wonders...

Mana engine can be done many ways - but it can speed up your production...

Here are your options to implment an "engine":
Ashnod's Altar
Black Market - counts your critters and theirs...
Cathodion
Myr Retriever
Volrath's Stronghold
Mana Cache
Mana Flare
Overeager apprentice
priest of gix

I'd personally go with the Cathodion, retriever, Altar, and Black Market...

Sac the cathodion for 2 to the altar, it makes an extra 3, play retriever, sac retriever for 2, get cathodion, play cathodion, sac for 2, and gain 3, and all the while the black market gains 3 counters, just for that turn...
so you end up with 7 colorless mana, and the Black market has 3 counters to start the next turn...

Then just use the stronghold to get the cathodion back, and cycle to build the market - the retriever is really a one-time thing, well 4 time thing... but you do get potential blockers from it and the retriever... then can sac them to fuel the market, and altar...

You could narrow it to an altar, stonghold, cathodion, market mix... and not use retriever... And remember, the altar builds when any creature goes to the gy from play - even your opponents...

The apprentice and priest are virtually cathodions...

Mana cache is handy against blue... and can gain you mana... but I like the cycle better...
