No, I did not use an atomic crystal.
I did, however, use another uhm...solid...er, object, which was by no means small.
The slits in question were also not...small.
I can confirm though, that water -- as well as a variety of sound -- was involved.
My experiment proceeded as follows:
While the Object (nicknamed "Up Quark" by the experiment team, and "Photon Torpedo" by certain participants) was prepared, (*deleted*) and (*deleted*) were placed in a secure position behind a screen, which would allow observers to get an idea of what was going on, without being able to interfere in the experiment itself. A video camera was positioned
When the Object was passed through Slit One, it (*deleted*) and was confirmed to have passed through by the (*deleted*) and (*deleted*) of the subject, who was partially intoxicated.
When the Object was passed into Slit two, there was a commotion as (*deleted*) got all (*deleted*) and disrupted the whole experiment by (*deleted*) and cussing.
For the critical portion of the experiment, when the object, believed to possess the dual qualities of being both a (*deleted*) and a (*deleted*), was passed into both Slits One and Two at the same time. Or rather, attempted to be passed. Subsonic vibrations -- partly casued by hip-hop and techno music -- as well as the inability of some of the experiment's participants to concentrate on recording data, led to all sorts of havoc, including the collapse of the support structure and the destruction of the screen, not to mention a really big mess of (*deleted*) and (*deleted*) that had to be cleaned up before (*deleted*)'s (*deleted*) arrived.
The only copy of the videotape is securely in my posession, and clearly shows the proceedings, followed by a very amusing soft drink commercial (coincidentally involving the phrases "Make 7" and "Up Yours" which could not have been more appropriate, considering the circumstances) and two episodes of Ally McBeal.
My findings?
Inconclusive, though I'd very much like to attempt a repeat experiment, utilizing (at least) two slits, and perhaps some holes. Restraints...er, strict controls would be used to ensure a more informative...conclusion, shall we say?
