What's your Favorite Plainshift critter? I voted Hippo all the way. I want to know what you think.

why is Meddling Mage not on the list??

Anyway, I vote for Flametongue Kavu :)

Well, I would have said Questing Pheldagriff as the weird one, but it's not the weird one anymore, DARN IT!

So I'll say Marsh Crocodile. I call him Fluffy.

Sorry I didn't include more options, but I was really tired.
    SORRY!

That's a tough choice. Possible candidates include:
    Voice of All
    Nightscape Familiar
    Phyrexian Scuta
    Flametongue Kavu
    Thunderscape Battlemage
    Cavern Harpy
    Meddling Mage
    Shivan Wurm

Okay, let's try to pare that down a bit...
    Phyrexian Scuta
    Flametongue Kavu
    Meddling Mage
    Shivan Wurm

Hmmmm. I can't decide between these four.

    I think FTK is best.

Not my favourite, but it`s certainly the best.

My favourite would probably be Thornscape or Thunderscape Battlemage - I`d struggle to choose which, but probably go with the Thunderscape. He`s a powerful individual.
  7. Azreal the Soulmaster Sorrow's Rhapsody

there is no doubt in the power of Flametongue Kavu, but there is just something about Voice of All, if i played white this angel would probably be in a deck
  8. Mr_Pestilence Wumpus

    FTK is my favorite!

This guy just screws blocking schemes, makes a lot of creatures obsolete, and forces you to consider him in constructing your deck, the same way Blastoderm does.
  9. Ransac CPA Trash Man

In the constructed environment, it's seems that Voice of All is this best creature that Planeshift has to offer. It just stands up to so much. Hello, mister Blastoderm. What's that, you are attacking? Nah, you just stand there. Mister FTK? Why are you trying to shoot me? You know that you'll just miss!

    Ransac, cpa trash man
  10. rkoelsch Angel Boy

I voted for Voice of All. I like angels and this one is pretty good and the Art is okay. I think FTK and meddling mage should have been on the list.
  11. Ephrils This Space For Rent

I voted for Voice of All. There's few creatures in Magic who can change or chose their protection. Being invunerable to an entire color is great, the card singlehandedly discourages monocolor decks. Plus the name is just cool

After that, probably the Flametongue Kavu, but his effectiveness is really weakened playing against white. Which has the Voice of All as well as Acolytes.

Thunderscape Battlemage is a close second to Thornscape Battlemage for me. All creatures that get killed by FTK can be killed by Thornscape, and Thornscape kills Orbs, Webs, Millstones, Bridges and Idols. Tough to say that this is better than killing Opposition, Story Circle, Teferi's Moat, Fires or Burst in all cases, but it is a little less situational. So here goes:

    Thornscape Battlemage
    Thunderscape Battlemage
    Meddling Mage
    Hippo
    Voice of All
    Fleetfoot Panther
    Shivan Wurm
    FTK
    Scuta
    Sunscape Battlemage

    for a Top 10.

Hmmm. I still say that Scuta, FTK, Mage, and the Wurm go Top 4.

    Let's see...

    Phyrexian Scuta
    Pros:
    Can be a 5/5 for 4
Can be a 3/3 if you don't wanna pay the life
    Beefy-phat for black
    Cons:
Costs you 3 life to grow him
    Bereft of any other powers
    Bounce is not your friend
You still pay 3 life if your opponent counters

    Flametongue Kavu
    Pros:
Deals 4 when he comes in
    Lightning Blast's big brother
    Merely uncommon
    Big in front
    Cons:
Can be forced to hit himself
    Small backside

    Meddling Mage
    Pros:
    Combo-stopper
    Warm body
    In-flavor for W/U control
    Cons:
A 2/2 is easy to kill
    Only handles one card
    In Type 2, what combos?

    Shivan Wurm
    Pros:
    Absolutely MASSIVE
    Tramples
Did I mention he only costs 5 mana?
Works great in Fires, an established archetype
    Cons:
Gotta bounce something when he comes in
Still vulnerable to tapping and/or Dark Banishing stuff

So it looks like it's down to Shivan Wurm vs. FTK...both very good choices. Amusingly enough, they're good friends. Play FTK for a 4-point splat, play the Wurm, and replay FTK for another splat.

My favorite deck type is UW control so I gotta go with Meddling Mage.:D
  15. Istanbul Sucker MCs call me sire.

If the Mage were harder to kill, I'd place it higher.
I'd like it more if it were a 1/3. Heck, I'd even be cool with it as a 0/4.
