Please post all comments about the Canadian election in this thread thanks.

This will be a debate about which party is best for Canada.

Parties are:
NDP
Canadian Alliance
The Libreals

Ademis22 will be moderating this post.

Whoops!
I forgot to mention the 4th major party here, the PC or Progressive Conservative party.

So theres actually:
The Liberals
The NDP
Progressive Conservatives
The Canadian Alliance

Just as a word for the PC party. They don't do anything to speak of, the win provincial elections occasionally, but I can't remember the last times they were in charge of the country. If there is a party thats just there and does nothing, then these guys are it.

I went to Canada last year for the NHL All-Star game. It was very, very hard to make left hand turns and to find parking that was free. I remember hearing about a party that had a funny acronym, but I can't remember what it was...

Taco Bell has french fries up there.

SIDE ISSUE???? Why do you say that? This is a huge thing... anyway to politics

I was watching the debate on wednesday, and Jean Cretien took a beating (if you didn't know, for all you ignorant americans out there, Jean Creiten is the Prime Minister of Canada and the leader of the Liberal Party) Stockwell Day (bad name, leader of the Canadian Alliance) Was forcing Jean Certien to make a decision, to call him a liar or pull the negative Usa style (yes Usa style) television adds.

I my honest opinion, Joe clark (Pc party)seems to be taking the smallest beating, cause no one can find anything really wrong with him. The leader of the Ndp party, Alexia McDoughan, seems to know most of the facts. And of course the Block qeubecoi (Separatists trying to seperate Quebec from Canada, they only run in Quebec, duh!) anyway they just talked about what they're going to do for quebec anyway so no one really cares about them.

The main issues are teir-2 health care, education, and "visions"

Were those debates broadcast?
If so, on which channel?

What were these "usa" style adds depicting? I haven't got television, so I don't know. :(
Creiten wouldn't open faced call someone a liar in the midst of a huge debate, he follows the Trudeau (<--spelling?) school of politics to closely, at least when the camera is on him.
Seems like Stockwell was trying to back him into a corner and force him to screw up on the fly.

Yes! We aren't a side issue! :D
Though I really think that since myself and ademis seem to be the only Canadians here, no one really cares. :(

I just wanted to say that after reviewing alot of the information on the two front running candidates, Stockwell Day and Jean Cretien, that I think Cretien is a fraud and an idiot and Day is a new Hitler.
So I won't vote at all and if Day manages to get into office, it won't surprise me at all to see him shot.
