Hi all.

Having seen the "A Tournament Day With the CPA" article by Ransac, I was just wondering...

How many of you CPAer will be attending the PreRealease in Atlanta?

I'll be there for the first flight, and will draft as many times as possible before the Franklin Posse hits the road back toward the mountains, late that night.

I'd like to meet you people (I think) and I know you're dying to meet me*.

Side note: Why don't some of your other CPAers who are attending a PreRelease start a thread to see whether anyone here will be attending in your area?

I don't know if people are discouraged now, but in the past some people have tried to mention Pre-releases and get a tally of who might be at some near them and as far as I know, no one really replied to those threads in the affirmative. <shrug> Not that I'm saying it can't happen now...

True, but our membership has grown considerably since the last prerelease, so I'm hoping...

I, for example, had no idea that there were five CPAers in the Atlanta area, until reading Ransac's post.

So, here's hopin'! ;)

Yeah, apparently there's a couple of people (2-3) in the Baltimore area. One asked if I was going to the Pre-release at BWI airport but I said no. I don't know if the others are going.

To help you on that point, Chaos Turtle, I will tell you how many people are on the CPA in Atlanta that I know of.


You have already met theorgg(Jensen) at the last pre-release. He tried to find me so I could meet you.

...in Macon. Headed up to Atlanta on Saturday, actually, to see Stomp (dang, they're incredible).

Hopefully, I'll be at the Atlanta prerelease. It'll depend in part on money, but I think I can swing it.

It's at the War Room, right? Well, if I get there, you'll recognize me as a tall (6'4") guy with longer-than-average red hair and a beard. I'll be wearing a Mephiskapheles "God Bless Satan Tour" shirt.

I'll be there, and I have an idea. Why don't each of us bring some signed cards to trade with our fellow CPA'ers? I'll bring a few signed Pestilence cards to trade, and I'd like to get something signed by every CPA'er in attendance.

It would be nice if the signed cards were somehow representative of your CPA "personality", such as me using Pestilence, but I know not all nicknames translate as smoothly. So, be creative. Ransac, I'll bring a Ransack for you to sign, and Orgg, guess what I'm bringing you (to sign).

I would like to see this idea spread - trading Magic/CPA "personality" cards with other members. For best effect, I think everyone should pick their favorite nearly-worthless card, sign it, and trade away!

Well, I'd like to sign Chimeric Idols... but I don't have enought o give away. :(

Great idea, Mr_Pestilence. I'm not as well-known on the board as most of you (I'm such a newbie and all), but I'd like to take part!

I think Mogg Fanatic will be the ideal card for me. I love Burn, and the Fanatic does its best work when it ends up Dead-O. I don't have many, though, and I use 'em all. So, I'll either have to substitute Shock Troops or trade for some more Fanatics there. Everybody bring your kamikaze goblins!

Searching mtgnews turned up the following turtles:

Horned Turtle 2U 1/4 (Sixth Edition/Tempest Common)
Giant Turtle 1GG 2/4 (Legends Common)
Vintara Snapper GG 2/2 (Prophecy Uncommon)

My preference would be for the Horned Turtle -- it would stand off the Chimeric Idol.

Just so every CPA member knows who everybody looks like, here are the descriptions of each member's appearances.


Sole Specter(Spencer)-Looks around 5'10, give or take. Curly hair.

Ransac(Mark{me})-6'2. Brownish hair. skinny. insane look in his eyes.

Prince RXI(David)-6'2. Dark Brownish hair. Beefy. insane looks in his rear end.

Theorgg(Jensen)-I think theorgg says it all.

MrPestilence(Hasn't told me his name yet)-Mustache. Glasses. I think he has brown hair, he usually wears a hat.

Pillbug(Andrew)-Around 5'8. Fuzz for hair. likes to get beat up.


Are those descriptions accurate?

I'll be the cute-as-hell, 6'0", early-20's (*mmmmph*) guy with the "naturally sun-lightened" (*mmmpphh*) hair, listening to the CD-Walkman*, and probabably looking either hyped-up (Saturday morning) or like a Dead Man Walkin' (later that day).

Watch for me!

And call me Rob in real life! Please!
