Personally, if I'm trading my Blasty for your Scuta, I'm liking that deal every day and twice on Sundays. With his kicker, I wonder how many times it will be Repulsed and Recoiled until everyone stops using him. THAT will then be the time to abuse the heck out of him.

Prediction:
Early IBC: U/B, Fires until U/W/B rears it's ugly head and schools everyone. Scuta will be part of the U/W/B House Everyone deck that will be the IBC version of Flores' white MBC deck. I think.

Scuta in multiplayer? No way. Or maybe way. Tough choice.

FrigginRizzo - None at all. Not with blue countermagic protecting him. And while I usually rely on Urborg Skeleton to protect me from Blasty if he gets past countermagic (you'd be surprised how nice an Urborg Skeleton can be on defense), I like the Scuta in that it's biiiiig. And hell, against Fires? How's Fires gonna bounce it? What, with all that blue mana it uses?

Phyrexian Scooter (Scuta sorry) is IMHO quiet a great card. Turn 2 5/5 fattie is wow great and Lord of the Undead is in the set for just 3! I like the guy... (and i don't play black)

Ya know, with a name like "Scuta" (a homonym of "scooter"), you'd think this thing would be unaffected by summoning sickness.

interestingly enough, Scutae is the big shield Gladiators carried. the ones that look like they cover everything from the neck to the ankles.

It's also the latin word for, well, that thing that shields your... y'know...

well let's put it this way: If I had a P.Scuta in my sack, It'd be kinda ironic...
