...from the Homarids, of course. ;)

Ready for round two? Break out the Ice Age!

Oops, BOOM! : U/R/W

Red
4x Orcish Cannoneers
3x Wild Research

Blue
4x Arcane Denial
3x Force of Will
4x Diplomatic Immunity
3x Propaganda

White
4x Academy Rector
4x Spirit Link

Artifact
2x Scroll Rack
2x Isochron Scepter

Gold/Multicolor
4x Fire/Ice

Land
4x Tundra
4x Volcanic Island
4x Plateau
4x Reflecting Pool
4x Flooded Strand
2x Island

Alright, here goes. Your first priority is to get out your Propaganda's, Rectors, and Wild Researche's. The Props and Rectors will stall so you can get the peices.

Drop a Cannoneer only if you have to, or have the Spirit Link ready. Make sure you play the spirit link first! The Immunity will screw you otherwise. Another thing to watch for is disenchant, it can strip you Links off without worrying about the Immunity.

Board out the Immunity against things without targeted removal, and bring in more counter.

Use the Racks to speed you to combo peices, and hopefully, you opponent will be saying 'What does that do?'

'CRAP'

In no time. ;)

....and?

Is that all you had to offer? o_O

Artillery aren't even 1/2 as cool as Cannoneers. ;)

Please, please, please don't play Arcane Denial. Its just a really bad card. Play Mana Leak or Counterspell or Misdirection or Dissipate or Last Word or Ertai's Meddling or Absorb or Undermine or Mystic Snake or Suffocating Blast.

Arcane is not bad at all. It's the only hard counter that cost 1U, and its card disadvantage isn't any worse than an ACC'ed Force of Will. Counterspells are about tempo, and in multicolor decks, Denial totally delivers. However, that said, since this deck's blue mana-base is pretty solid, I think you'd do better to run the classic counterspell.

The deck looks nice...

I would personally drop the fire/ice for somethin like firebolt - which you get 2 uses out of...

Or you could run something like Accumulated Knowledge to help you mass draw..

You could even run a cursed scroll...

When you're looking for a non-double UU cspell, and draw without draw, Arcane Denial is exactly what you want.

You can ask no better of a counterspell for two then to draw you a card. Especially in this deck.

Instead of Diplomatic Immunity, how about Pemmin's Aura? This way you can untap the Orcs and re-use them all abusive-like. Plus late game when you have way too much mana, you can boost him up to a 4/1 flyer, swing, and untap for your evil tricks.

And I too am an Arcane Denial fan, though I'm not sure if I love it in here. From a Scepter only standpoint, both straight Counterspell and Memory Lapse are stronger options.

I think that Pemmins Aura may work very well... the only hangup is the addition of yet another double UU casting cost, but I'm over it.

Arcane Denial fits perfectly - it is a crucial part of the decks draw engine. Especially on scepter.

Remember, at heart, it's a combo deck.
