Okay, I followed turgy22 over to MTG Salvation but only to see what he was doing there. Then I tripped on something and accidently signed up for the forums as Killer Joe

I did *on accident*, honestly :(

What the heck is MTG Salvation? Salvation from what? like a Born Again Magic Player? And why would/should we ban their residents.... Do they become all preachy and stuff?

MTGSalvation is the website that Rancored_Elf went to after he left MTGNews.com That's where he puts all of his spoiler info now.

Mmm... I go there whenever I see a link to the spoiler page.

Can't say I really hang out at any other site.

Um...my understanding is that's where he put he spoiler information...I've heard they found him out and are shutting him down. Does anyone else know anything about this?

WoTC sued him and he isn't allowed to put out anything that hasn't been "officially" released by WoTC.

Hey, I go to that site to read the rules postings. It has lots of questions.

From what I've seen others also contribute to the spoiler info... Retailers who get the prerelease cards release a pic... etc.

So I don't see how some leakage is too horrible, then again a particularly horrible set will cause sales to drop and WotC to get pissed.

Yeah, but it would do that anyway. They wouldn't seriously lose a substantial amount of money if some people on the internet knew about the suckiness of the set a little bit early (they'd be the same people who would read the other spoilers anyway).

The suit altho inclusive of the spoilers was mostly about the images of 3 playtest unfinished coldsnap cards. They wanted to root out people that had that kind of clearance that would show unfinished product, and or trade secret info by showing cards in process. Those employees had non disclosure contracts and that was the last straw.Personally I think the spoilers and just the spoilers probally helped presale profits and prerelease attendance quite a bit.If it were just about the spoilers then wizco wouldn't put the new set into gatherer untill the release for sale date.

It also had to do with the fact that scumbago Rancored Elf was making really good profit from his trade secret pilfering. Since he'd built up a type of celebrity through spoilers, he started his own sales site. Now I could see WotCo getting angry at the spoilers. They've been for years. But to find out this creep is making money off the attention the spoilers get him? Hell with that. *zap*SUE TIME*zap*

Makes sense to me.

One of the benefits of us being a WotC partner with Moxradio is likely to be advance viewing of future sets and trips to R&D in Seattle. Oh yes.

Well, that's not do to the fact that you're with Moxradio........ that's because Gizmo kicks ass.

Correct Notepad. They don't want him flaunting it.

And no matter how much they try, WotC will still get people getting their hands on the unfinished playtest cards. There's a guy around here who had a couple playtest cards from Kamigawa when Mirrodin was still just starting up. Sure they were crap cards, and that's why I wasn't too interested in Kamigawa.
