Odd rares really not Odd??

I had heard this type of rumor before with Fourth Edition(the last row of a Fourth Edition box supposably would have a Millstone or an Island Sanctuary), but I didn't think the rumor was true. It seems that somone has found the sequence Oddy goes in.

How did this happen? Has it been like that for quite some time?

Really, can you take advantage of this, since it seems to start randomly for each stack of three?

Apparently, the MTG rumor mills had the list of the order of rares in Odyssey before brainburst.... just thought I'd point that out.

I also know that a couple of the stores that sell m:tg shuffle the packs in their boxes before selling them. Maybe wizards tells them to?

The only way to take advantage of this is to be there when the box is opened, with the "list" in hand. Open the first pack, and check the list for those high dollar rares you want to rip out of the sequence.

However, if you hit a foil rare, the sequence is interrupted, and you have to start over, or at least adjust the sequence by one.

So this is only an advantage for stores like Neutral Ground- Atlanta which high-stregnth industrial chimical scales(measured to .00001 of a pound) to snag the foil cards from the unopened packs to sell?

The only other time I can remember the randomness being successfully challenged is when WOTC distributed Legends. It was shown that certain boxes contained half the set and others had the other half, so WOTC had their exchange program.

Maybe someone should buy a box of Odyssey and verify? (That "this has been extensively tested/verified" statement always has that same ring with the urban legends that go around )
