Not so Casual WW for STD

Okay I am playing at a FNM tourney at a local game shop. They get about 10 or 12 people playing. They usually have about 3 or 4 new people and about 6 regular pro tour wanabees. I am playing WW as I have most of the cards needed. Went 2-2 last week with a very janky deck. I am trying to trade for the cards I need to make it better. Here is what I am aiming at.

cc1
4-Benevolent Bodyguard
4-Deftblade Elite
2-Planar Guide

cc2
4-Longbow Archers(didn't see any sligh)
4-Whipcorder
2-Dragon Scales

cc3
4-Glorious Anthem
3-Wing Shards
2-Lieutenant Kirtar
Pianna, Nomad Captian

cc4
2-Wrath of God
2-Dawn Elemental
Commander Eesha

cc6
2-Noble Templar(should be Eternal Dragons but hard to get)
Jareth, Leonine Titan

22-Plains

SB
3-Spurnmage Advocate
3-Silver Knight
3-White Knight
3-Disenchant
3-Rain of Blades(Decree of Justice is very popular)

Let me know what you think

Looks solid - but disenchant will be out of standard September 1st...

Gilded light wouldn't be bad utility, or wipe clean...

Maybe some Renewed faiths, or Akroma's blessings...

Even the zealous inquisitor would be smooth - the one from scourge...

I suggest ditching the Dragon Wings. Replacing it with a suitable Knight instead. Nifty Enchantment but faced with the choice of either playing a nongame breaking enchantment to playing a critter, I'd go critter every time.

You might want to look into throwing in Beloved Chaplain, Weathered Wayfarer, they're both quality weenies.

Maybe throw in some resets like Akroma's Vengeance if you see the game getting out hand...weenies strong early on but past round 6 if they're not reeling then it's probably time to hit that rest button.

Now maybe with a new base set in cycle maybe WW should be afforded a new look...hmm.

Best of both worlds...

Mobilization...

Look - Commander Eesha doesn't tap...
Look - more land on the draw... more tokens to make...

Mobilization has it's steep cost through. Remember WW started out because it was grossly efficient in the starting 4 round.

1: Savannah Lion
2: White Knight
3: Savannah Lion, White Knight
4: Geddon

Now granted that's the PREMIUM hand for old school WW IF they didn't play a Mox Pearl and Land Tax.

Throwing in high costed spells deviates from the focus of a traditionally built WW deck. Which is to be MUCH more efficient then your opponent, then rape them of their resources. The loss of Geddon really hit WW square in the junk.

That's why numbers matter now - because geddon is gone...

We all know decks stall out - especially because weenie has no drawing mechanism- note to rkoelsch - look into slate of ancestry... throwing a mobilization in the mix only lets the numbers keep growing - and face it - green is the only other color out there that can deal with enchantments... I like the odds and probability of facing a color without enchantment control...;)

Earthquake is no longer in Standard.

If I were going to make a WW deck, this is what I would make:

4x Savannah Lions
4x Suntail Hawk
3x Planar Guide
4x White Knight
4x Silver Knight
4x Diving Griffin
4x Glorious Anthem
3x Akroma's Blessing
3x Dawn Elemental
3x Worship

20x Plains
4x Secluded Steppe

SB:
3x Karma
3x Dawning Purist
3x Wipe Clean
3x Decree of Justice
3x Sanctimony

The Purist and Wipe Clean go in vs. Wake or Slide/Rift decks, Karma swats Zombies down, Sanctimony gives Goblins fits, and Decree of Justice is there in case you find yourself needing more muscle.

The strongest thing in II is the wake(worlds...) - the other decks are strong blocks, not necessarily type II...

Slide has shown limited II capabilities, but is mainly block...

I've decided to take this idea and make it my own...I think this deck could beat a lot of the Decks To Beat out there, with a little tuning. Soooo...

3x Savannah Lions
3x Suntail Hawk
3x Planar Guide
2x White Knight
4x Silver Knight
3x Daru Sanctifier
3x Diving Griffin
3x Glorious Anthem
3x Akroma's Blessing
3x Dawn Elemental
3x Exalted Angel
4x Wipe Clean

22x Plains
2x Secluded Steppe

SB:
3x Karma
1x Daru Sanctifier
3x Stabilizer
3x Aegis of Honor
3x Decree of Justice
1x Suntail Hawk
1x White Knight

The simple fact is, the universal feedback I'm getting from people I ask is that Bad Form and Wake are the two decks to beat in Standard, at least for now. Both of them rely fairly heavily on enchantments to win, and that's why Dawning Purist and Wipe Clean are maindeck. If I find out that I need to race an opponent, the Wipes come out for the Suntail Hawk, White Knight, and maybe even another Purist (for good measure). Exalted Angel is SUCH a bomb, I can't believe I didn't notice her before. The Aegis is principally there so that some random Goblin deck can't burn me out (should I use Ivory Mask instead?), Stabilizer kicks Form in the groin six or seven times, and Karma is for anyone clinging to the ridiculous notion of MBC.

Thoughts?

[Edit: Guess who misread Dawning Purist? Whoopsie. Make that Daru Sanctifier.]
