Sphere of Law + Pyrostatic Pillar

Literally you ping your opponent, or a creature for 2 damage whenever he/she play a spell with casting cost (3) or less.

Team that up with white gain life, and reds burn, and you get a nice little treat.

That deck could get crazy with Impatience and/or Spellshock...

I really like this idea. How's this for a deck? I decided to include the other red cards that punish you for doing things, such as Spellshock, Impatience, etc.

Whats great about it is the fact that you can use it to almost nullify other red burn decks, and the fact that white has so many kawaii little fast creatures now.

Hmm... add 4 Savannah Lions or something, for some first turn defense/offense.


Impatience would just hurt! a completely useless card is actually made viable (first time I found it useful) and quite funny.


So I guess you could call this deck the "Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't" deck

Man... wouldn't that suck if someone played goblins against you? You just get out the sphere, then the pillar, and he either concedes, waits to deck you, or you take him out with a few well timed strikes.

I was thinking of using the Pillar in an MP game but thought that might make me an early target... probably need defensive cards to help out.

How about a "Runes of Protection" Deck. These are the CoP's from Urza's Saga. Just keep cycling until you get the right Runes.

If that's the case - I'd say run a Hermit Druid-Replenish deck...

Another idea with pillars could be to play spells with alternative casting cost, and man lands.

I decided to build a pillar-fireblast-mishras sligt deck to beat GroAtog, but I realized there was a "timing problem"...

btw -SoL would be nice with manabarbs, and SoG with pestilence, or even erg raiders.
