Well, the first Team M94 got accepted and is up. :D

Anybody who remembers my older writing might recall all the humor Mad Dog Rants I did for The Dojo. Well, Team M94 is my new humor style. A column about a fictional group of Magic players and their antics. I'm hoping that can be a weekly column here.

The other one, I just submitted an hour or so ago, titled Mad Dog Rant. Titled like the old humor writing I did for Dojo, but the idea of rants brings up ideas of rants, and not stories about some silly players. Now, Mad Dog Rants are general community issues rants. This first one I sent in is about the Redemption Policy. MDR's I'll write whenever I can about issues, but I don't think I'll write them at any sort of regular basis. Issues dry up when one starts to write about issues for ranting's sake. ;) The next one I was thinking of doing about game ethics.

one thing-- don't let on that the team is fictional! It works better that way!

Also, the current article editor is Spiderman, and we get so few articles that just about anything is taken. The forums around here are the biggest part of the site-- not a tack-on like most.

Now, don't let theorgg make you think we don't like your article.;) I really liked it; are you actually suspended, or is that ficitonal too?

He is actually suspended, he mentions the story and circumstances in New Members. We might have talked about it when it came up in CPA/Magic Issues a while back...

Yeah, my suspension is real. DCI suspension notices from I think March 12 or so. At least, that's the date on the letter Chris Zantides sent me in the mail. ;)

It is something that is making starting the Ethics article hard. Do I mention my suspension? (it seems necessary). If so, do I try to say "I am not a cheater"? (again, seems needed otherwise the article would seem like an oxymoron). But if I do, how do I do so without sounding like Nixon "I am not a crook." Then, should I try to say something to the effect of "my suspension gives me a good perspective on ethics in Magic"? If I do that...how do I make it sound not as pompous and at the same time keep readers from thinking its okay to do the same thing I did?

As you can see, I've thought this out a lot. I'll think out all the Mad Dog Rants real well (the Reprint Policy one I wrote took a lot of thought before even starting it out). This one, seems highly complicated by the fact that I did something worthy of suspension. I'll figure it out eventually, though. :D

Why not post your explanation in New Members as an article? Just so people know where you're coming from...

Hmm, good idea. Something of a "Testimony of a Convict" or something like that. I just have to find a good noun, because "cheater" isn't what I want to use, and "convict" doesn't communicate well that it was a DCI crime I was punished for.

I will try to rework the new members thread history of my suspension. I don't want it to bash Sanson as much as it seems to, but he is necessary to mention. The way I wrote that also doesn't communicate all that I want to about the severity of what I did, and how much I want to stress nobody try to make similar choices. In an article format, I can also explain what exactly a DCI investigation is like (Zantides does not come crashing through your window with a team of ninjas...he's actually quite a nice and understanding guy).

Yeah, maybe I'm thinking the wrong title line. After scowering the dictionary and thesaurus for a better word, I check the thread and here's a better idea on it. :D

@Spiderman~One thing I wanted to ask, since you're the guy in charge: Can the title of an article be changed? I don't have any replacement title, but I was thinking of the rants not being "Mad Dog Rants." That might cause a bit of confusion as to why that is not a humor column anymore, so I wanted to change it.

I have the M94 #2 already written, and after I scan it over for my usual typos, I'll send it in. Now...to come up with a title for the "Testimony of an Outlaw" thing.
