What a great movie! I wish I saw it earlier .... seeing it at 20 for the first time does not have the same effect, but still! I want to fly on Falkor, the Luck Dragon!!!

Yes, Neverending Story does indeed rule. :) Don't bother with the sequels, they are fairly unimpressive. But the original... Fantasy taken to a step beyond the norm, and well worth it! The entire sequence with the Gates is one of the most memorable in any movie I remember.

That's supposed to be a dragon? It's furrier than 70's shag carpeting! And it looks like an old lady's ratdog.

Except for rug burn.

*Remembers fond memories of a red bottom from sliding down shag carpet*

I hated that movie. I don't even remember what it's about anymore, beyond the fact that I hated it with a passion.

Old fan of the first. Hated the sequel. Didn't bother with the 3rd one.

If you can find it, the book is worth reading (if you can stand that kinda kiddie stuff ;)). The movie stops about halfway through the story. The sequel does not cover the remainder of the book.

I think I started a thread like this a while back...

Great original, haven't watched the sequels but my wife has and she said they sucked pretty much.

We got the soundtrack to the original, we just love the theme song.

But does anyone KNOW what name Sebastian yells out to save the princess? It's been bugging me and I think that's why I started a thread earlier but no one knew the answer....

I always thought he yelled his mother's name...

(Btw, the theme song to "Flight of Dragons" is excellent as well, even if the movie is slightly less impressive. Based on the book "The Dragon and the George.")

Flight of the Dragons was also very, very good!

Spidey: I guess you'll have to watch the whole movie again :D

In the german version he yells "Mondenkind".

this translates to something like moon's child, but I have no idea what he actually says in the english version

That's pretty much where my previous thread ended, that it means "moon child".

Does it say in the book?

I believe he yells "Moon Child" in the English version too, but it's obscured by a peal of thunder. It's abeen a long long time though, so I'm not 100% sure.

Now the book... I can't remember that little detail. I don't think it mentions the name.

I think I started it, my two little ones LOVE that movie, and so do I.
I think HBO used to run a cartoon series of it. It sucks, though.

The Flight of Dragons was one of my favorite movies growing up. I would still watch it today.
