I found a combo I used to like... but was trying to figure out how to better expolit it... I called the deck, the Grim Shocker...

It is BR discard... The combo was a fire-whipped Shocker with Megrim in play.. yeah, it's 3 cards... but the megrim is only to speed things up...

Other cards I used - Blazing Specter, Hypnotic Specter... I am now thinking Winds of Change & Wheel of Fortune... with land destruction to keep their cards in their hands... Now there are a few red cards which grant the tim ability...

Anyone care to make a deck out of this mess - or infuse your own stuff?

there's always the artifact that grants the tim ability (viridean longbow).

Add blue for Wheel and Deal and Phyrexian Tyranny?
(Jorael says: "Than you would have acces to Rise // Fall, the new split card!")

Hellhole Rats? Ravenous Rats? Chittering Rats? Recoil?

Too many options!

If you succeed to empty your opponents' hands, cards like Lore Broker and Cephalid Broker become really nasty.

Good luck!

If you add blue, and have megrim in the deck, then you want Urza's Guilt, however, not sure that adding blue is what you are really looking to do here. One of the problems I have found with decks dealing with discard is trying to keep enough cards in your opponent's hand to keep them discarding. Have you thought about a Wheel of Fortune or two?

I agree that adding a third color isn't a really good idea, because it'll become a lot less consistent.
But the problem of the opponent with an empty hand is solved pretty well by blue: Bounce! When you are playing stuff like Recoil, an opponent with no cards in his/her hand is in bad shape. Words of Wind might also be nice..

A Wheel of Fortune gives your opponent a lot of options.. maybe something like Howling Mine? Or Anvil of Bogardan?
Empty the Catacombs comes to mind.. if you are using the creatures that let other players discard, it might even out.. but late game, it'll give your opponents even more cards than a Wheel.. (don't you just love it when I start contradicting myself?)

Oh wait.. why don't you play stuf like Rackling and Lavaborn Muse?

I had a deck like this once and enjoyed it a great deal. As I recall I also ran Hakim, Loreweaver. He is 3BB 2/4 Flier w/ BB: Put target creature enchantment from your graveyard onto Hakim...only during upkeep and only if there are no ench on Hakim.

Between this, Crown of Ages and Enchantment Alteration I was able to keep the critical creature enhancements in play.

This is certainly an inefficient means of moving things around but it was very fun for a casual deck. There may be better things around nowadays but the idea was nonetheless fun.

Best of luck.

It suddenly occurs to me that the 'empty-hand' problem is bigger than I thought; you are playing discard, which that the deck itself is making the Shocker/Firewhip combo less effective..
I'm starting to think that a UR build is the way to go..

Creatures (16)
4x Shocker
4x Man-'o-War
4x Aven Fogbringer
4x Avalanche Riders
Spells (20)
4x Annex
4x Boomerang
4x Psionic Gift
4x Remand
4x Wheel and Deal
Lands (24)
12x Mountain
12x Island
All about bounce & landdestruction, both keeping an opponent's hand filled to the brim. A couple of hits by the shocker should mill them pretty quickly..

edit: I can't count
