Hi all.

I need help making a Fun Dragon Deck for use in multiplayer games.

All I need is the creatures to be Dragons, the spells in the deck don't have to be.

Nothing hurtful in the deck like Counterspells, Obliterate, Wrath etc.

Must be fun.

Thanx

*Growf!*

We'll need more information, and ideally a decklist to "edit" before we can help more. Information like type of multiplayer games (chaos, teams, etc), and your card pool. Since you are aiming for fun, your metagame is unnecessary for now.

Anyways, go five color, heavy on the red, splashing the other color. Use single copies of the Invasion dragons, but avoid the five Elder Dragon Legends (well, except maybe Nicol Bolas), as the upkeep on them is atrocious. To keep the deck a decent size, just run one of each other dragon printed (use multiples for a thicker deck). Make sure the legend that fetches dragons is in the deck, as well as enough creature search cards (Worldly Tutor and perhaps Pack Hunt, among others - mostly green, though) to fetch more dragons.

For more flavor, consider including cards that either mention one of the dragons in title or flavor text (Darigaaz' Breath), or feature dragons in the artwork (Fiery Covenant). This will let you fill in holes in the functionality of the deck, while still staying on theme.

As for land, well, the assorted Lairs are automatic, as well as enough multicolor lands (duals are best...) to consistently play everything.

Oh, and beware Rashida Scalebane! ;)

There is one dragon that should definitely go into a multiplayer deck, and that's Dromar the Unsummoner. When you name a color, chances are more than one player is going to hurt from the reset.

If you want to focus on a single color, I would suggest red. You have Shivan Dragon, Dragon Whelp, Volcanic Dragon, Lightning Dragon, and Covetous Dragon. There's also Zirilan of the Claw (though technically not a dragon). An artifact-mana based deck ala Wildfire build would help in paying for the mana.

You also have the option of revolving a deck around Belbe's Portal.

something like this:

Creatures (14)
3 Shivan Dragon
3 Shivan Hellkite
3 Covetous Dragon
3 Rathi Dragon

Spells (8)
4 Wildfire
4 Earthquake

Artifacts (16)
4 Fire Diamond
4 Grim Monolith
4 Thran Dynamo
4 Voltiac Key

Lands (22)
4 Crystal Vein
4 Sandstone Needle
14 Mountain

I'd lose the Keys in favor of 4x Lightning Dragon.
I'd also lose 3x Covetous and 1x Rathi Dragon in favor of 4x Dragon Whelp.

Maybe Triassic Egg or Survivial of the Fittest to help get them out? (There's probably a couple of more spells that help too)

With all that acceleration and all those dragons, I think it'd be kind of redundant.

But if you're looking for "fun", Triassic Egg sure fits the bill. 'Cause who uses it otherwise (as opposed to the other mana accelerators)?

Use some sort of 'cheaters':
Belbe's Portal
Urza's Incubator
Quicksilver Amulet
Elvish Piper
Sneak Attack
Call of the Wild

All of the above cards do 4 tremendous things for your dragons
1 - The Dragon can't be countered
2 - You put them in play for a cost much cheaper than their CC
3 - They are out quicker than they should be
4 - They can be played as instants (except the call), a huge plus for MP blocking tricks.

Also consider stuff like Earthquake and/or faultline since your critters should have flying.

Other fun Dragon helpers include
Surge of Strength
Berserk
Fires of Yavimaya
Relentless Assault
Serra's Blessing
Knighthood

Hope this helps
