Need a little help

If you want real advice then post your deck, and the cards you didnt play with as well (all the ones which are ever semi-playable) and we`ll see where we disagree.

We do this all the time at our limited events... people give us their decks and go "I thought I built the best deck I could, all the choices are really obvious... but Im 1-3" and when we see what they didnt play with... man we`d have been in whole other colors!

Posting the cards was my original idea but when I got home I
pull out the cards I thought were good and trashed the rest.
Monday is trash day for us so they are all gone.

After I open up all these cards I drew a complete blank. I was

Well no one said Magic was easy. I think it is very difficult to look at cards and make a deck in 45 minutes to an hour. Looking at the cards you posted I would have gone B/U/w chosing white for 3 cards Mystic Zealot(wide body that becomes a flyer), Aven flock and Auramancer. I didn't see anything in red that looked that good, but I am partial to white.

How unusual... And Graceful Antelope? That's an almost "must-play"!

Well, just looking at it I would have gone black as one of my colors since there's a lot of them, but I still don't know the cards off the top of my head so I can't say if that's a good choice But like rkoelsch says, the time limit to register and build decks and goldfish a bit is cutting it close. And as I said, my own deck should have gone B/W instead of G/W, so I know the feeling

That one's kinda close, but I probably would've gone B/U/G with it instead of B/R/U, simply because your burn is strictly mediocre and almost all of your red creatures suck. In contrast, green would have gotten you Werebear, Chatter, Rootwalla, Veteran, Calmer, and opened up the possibility for Simplify in the sideboard.

Still, that's just me.

My lame decklist. From what I remember. I know its really bad
but he only gave us a half an hour. No kidding! That's not
really a good excuse but I was in total shock after I open the
cards and he said "you've got half an hour."

Man, I hate to show you guy's this decklist.... but its the only way
I'll ever be able to improve.

From the cards you listed, I think your deck is about right. However unless you got a couple of good cards that you thought were complete crap... you got a fairly mediocre set of cards with two good rares.

Caveman, don't be ashamed... That stack was a fairly bad pull. You got some power(the 2/2 pump bird is CRAZY!), but otherwise...

It wasn't amazing.

I pretty much agree with Gizmo, amazingly....

I don't see that much wrong with your decklist either. I wonder what the "Cephalid ?" was. If it was Scout, Looter, or Broker I sure would have played them, but I suppose you would have too.

Temporary Insanity is good enough to have been in your deck though. You seem to have good ways of getting cards into your graveyard, which is neccessary for that card to work. I'd have picked that over the Longhorn Firebeast. I also think I'd have skipped the Infected Vermin in favor of either the Flaming Gambit (not as bad as it looks, for a late-game card) or the Accelerate (a cheap cantrip that might even do something). The Vermin kills your Shade and your Lavamancer.

I know this might be a bit of a stretch, since you seem to have such a weak creature base (though I can not complain about your better creatures: Nantuko Shade, Grim Lavamacer and 2x Balshan Collaborator!) but one of your Restless Dreams might have seen some use as a way to rescue your *good* creatures from the graveyard if they should die prematurely or be discarded. And reusing a Gravedigger is usually good.
