LANDS
9x mountains
9x swamps
CREATURES
2x blood pets
4x cateran brutes
1x latulla, keldon overseer
1x avatar of fury(getting another)
2x crimson hellkites
2x zirilian of the claw
2x shivan hellkite
2x lacolith titan
SPELLS/ENCHANTMENTS
4x culling the weak
4x raise dead
4x dark rituals
4x lightning blasts
4x kindle
2x seal of doom
4x sever souls
SIDEBOARD
4X plague bettle
4x ostrasice
4x drudge skeletons
2x blood pets
4x fog of gnats

here is my sligh deck. i have usually been even with herald(if he'd ever get his but on this board). he has this wicked little elf deck that pisses me off bad.
LANDS
20x mountains
CREATURES
2x ragin goblins
2x fault riders
4x keldon champs
4x defenders of chaos
4x mogg fanatics(sideboard but i've been casually lately)
2x kyren snipers
4x goblin raiders
2x viashino sandscouts
SPELLS
4x incinerates
2x flame rifts
4x seal of fires
2x scent of cinders
3x rhystice lightning
1x landslide
so what do u guys think of my decks. the first one,the dragon deck. the point of that deck is to get zirilan out then start bringing out the dragons, turn after turn. now i have a question. if you counterspell a viashino sandscout, it still goes back to your hand right?

No, a countered spell goes to the graveyard.

And yea for Viashinos! Whoo!

well i know that, but does viashino sandscout go back to your hand, cuz that's what it says "at end of turn return viashino sandscout to owner's hand"

cards have to be in play for their text to be effect, unless they specificly say "...if this card is in the graveyard..."

DK -- If I remember correctly, dragons that Zirilian pulls out of the deck die at the end of the turn. As such you might want to add more dragons of all stripes.

What do you plan to do with all of that black mana? I can understand the Dark Rits, to help hard cast the dragons, but I think that Culling the Weak (intended for Latulla, I suspect) may just waste some of your creatures,or worse, just set in your hand. The same goes for Raise Dead. I suspect that these are in the deck to make Culling the Weak less painful. There are better cards for this -- Victimize, Reanimate, and Haunted Crossroads, for example.

Your land count should be rethought, as well, considering that you have multiple BIG red creatures that can be pumped. More mountains, and only use black cards with a single B in the casting cost.

Except for Massacre. If I recall correctly from your other posts, one of your constant opponents nearly always plays white. That covers Massacre's ACC, while netting you some card advantage (as most of your creatures will survive -2/-2).

Since red pumping dragons is the idea for this deck, Mana Flare might be a good addition. Yeah, your opponent will benefit from the flare, but good board control (Massacres and Shivan Hellkite) will minimize this, hopefully netting many dead creatures, as well (another reason to play Reanimate, as you can pull creatures from opponent's graveyards, too!)

Let's see...

Land (20)
14 Mountain
6 Swamp

Creatures (20)
2 Avatar of Fury
4 Shivan Hellkite
2 Shivan Dragon
2 Crimson Hellkite
2 Zirilian of the Claw
3 Dragon Whelp
3 The common dog critters from Urza's Saga that cost 4B to cast, are 3/3 and get +2/+0 when attacking
2 Viashino Heretics

Spells
3 Mana Flare
3 Massacre
3 Reanimate
1 Haunted Crossroads
3 Dark Ritual
3 Blaze or Kaervek's Torch
1 Demonic or Vampiric Tutor
3 Instant Red Burn (Kindle, Parch, Incinerate, whatever you want)

SB
I don't believe in sideboarding...
But
4 Citadels of Pain (you have plenty of uses for the mana)
4 Chimeric Idol (and this is one of them)
7 Assorted color hosers -- Perish, Extinction, Boil, REB/Pyroblast, etc.

These might make a decent start.

Just my opinion.

thank you for the ideas krich. and on zirilan. the card text reads, "1RR T, search your library for a dragon card, and put it into play as though it were just summoned. That creature is unaffected by summoning sickness until end of turn. Bury that creature at end of any turn." so technically i dont have to burry it until i want to. Correct?

I think it means at the end of any turn in which it is summoned by means of Zirilian.

I think.

Hate to be the bearer of "bad" news, but Zirilan has been re-worded:
Zirilan of the Claw
Color=Red
Type=Creature - Legend
Cost=3RR
MI(R1)
Text(MI+errata): 3/4 ; {1}{R}{R},{Tap}: Search your library for a Dragon card and put that card into play. Then shuffle your library. That Dragon gains haste until end of turn. At end of turn, remove it from the game. [Oracle 99/07/01]

If the Dragon is brought into play and then phases out, the "At end of turn remove it from the game" will be forgotten. [D'Angelo 98/10/30]
So the Dragon gets removed from game at the end of turn (unless you want to phase it).
