My first crack at Astral Slide

Okay, I'm thinking "What should my next deck to build be. Hmm. I can't think of many decks out there. Let me look through my binder. I'd like to actually use my Blistering Firecat. Oh, look at my Silent Specter. Gee wiz, I sure like my Rockshard Elementals(totally under estimated in my point of view.)". Then it hit me. I sould play with all of them. So, I took it upon myself to build a Ransac-style Astral Slide Deck. And here it is.s


All those that laugh shall be shot 4.23 seconds after first laughter breaks.

I know it costs 2 more to play... but Akroma's vengeance is worth it... a modern day disk... and think you can slide out some of your creatures just before the disk and then they come back....

As for the sideboard...

look into the seedborn muse... being able to untap all your items every turn can be very nice... and the windborn muse... she's a propaganda for white...

I was going to suggest Akroma's Vengence as well. I have an Astral Slide deck that I put together. It plays a lot more disruption than most Slide decks, but it doesn't play Wrath. Instead 4 Vengence, which gives it a very serious edge in the mirror.

If you are in a winning position, Wrath is a dead card. Of course, having dead cards will sometimes put you in a non-winning position, in which case you suddenly need to Wrath, but I prefer not having a self-fullfilling prophecy

Anyother thing you might consider. This is something I did more to make the deck tournament viable, but still... Take out multiple copies of all but the most important creatures (Tusker, Angel, etc.) and move the others to the sideboard. Then, run 4 copies of Living Wish to get what you need when you need it.

I suspect, however, that you want to keep this deck funner than that, in which case ignore what I just said, but see if there is any way you could get more cycling cards. The land with the Cartographer is good, but has a problem. It means that for this deck to work, you must draw both Cartographer and Slide. You will have quite a few games where you will get one, but not the other, even with the cycling. The only card that comes to mind is something like Undead Gladiator, but you don't want to thin the mana base that much. Have to give this some thought...

Also, Genesis is pretty good in case a Cartographer gets killed, you don't need to find another.

ps. Get rid of Voidmage Apprentice. You need to be able to turn it over to counter a spell. Sliding it out will not accomplish that and you are not running blue.

i still working things out, think i gonna toss Lay Waste and put in some burning wishes and starstorms when i get sideboard. Maybe add more basic land like 1 more plains 1 more forest. I think gonna dump the lay waste for 1 starstorm and 2 burning wishes and 2 basic lands then gonna put a wrath in sideboard for maybe another starstorm. So that I can wish the wrath out if needed. I updated my deck after I made some switches and working on sideboard.

Since you're running so little red, you might be able to drop it all together and concentrate on more G/W

Drop the red and you have an auto-lose to Ensnaring Bridge. With the Rift, that's never a problem.

As it is, I think you have an auto-lose to Solitary Confinement.

That's one of the reasons I run the Living Wish. It allows me to get cards like Cloudchaser Aven when I need them, but not have to bog my deck down otherwise.

Its got to be extremely fun to play.

You could side in Nantuko Vigilante for troublesome artifacts
and enchantments.
