Doh! I forgot about Purgatory. I'm not sure of the answers of the rules questions; I would have thought the "link" would be broken; each Purgatory would keep track of its own cards, but Crystalkeep doesn't mention that, just changing controllers. So in absence of that... I would say yes, it behaves like you say. But let's ask in Rules anyway :)

Purgatory doesn't work that way...

Just like a creature removed from the game with Astral slide, comes into play as a new creature - same card, but new creature, Purgatory, if bounced, or re-cast, or another purgatory being cast, would not be able to bring back cards removed by a previous purgatory...

The removed cards would be gone entirely - unless wishes or ring of maruf was used...

402.8. Abilities function only while the permanent with the ability is in play unless the ability is a characteristic-setting ability that sets type or color, an ability of an instant or sorcery, an additional cost, an alternative cost, or a play restriction.
- The ability from the purgatory that removed the creature is not in play, and thus the trigger for it would not occur...
- If another purgatory entered play - it would trigger during upkeep, see the creature removed from the previous purgatory, but dismiss it, as not being removed by itself...

The template for cards - just as in crystalkeep - for purgatory is:

If a creature card would be put into your graveyard from play, remove that card from the game instead.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay and 2 life. If you do, return a card removed from the game with "this" to play.

another purgatory's view would be:

If a creature card would be put into your graveyard from play, remove that card from the game instead.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay and 2 life. If you do, return a card removed from the game with "this, not that", to play.

we now return you the the scheduled game already in progress:
spidey - takes the 3, gets poison counter, and I'm done...

What was left in your hand? Were you just out of creatures?

I had Bubble Matrix, Flux, Zombie Mob, and Barrow Ghoul (which was going to come out next, since I had some creatures to feed it :) )

So what now? I win the ante and wait until the other games wrap up?

I think so...

My hand - breathstealer - shattered crypt - ward of lights - swamp...

After shuffling, my deck put nothing in to help me - drawing 3 lands in a row never helps...

the next creature was a fledgling djinn, then phyrexian walker, and then crypt rats... but you could easily perish my djinn, so i had to have something else, and it wasn't coming...

Correct - pick your ante card - Hammer of Bogarden or Empyrial Armor which will be included in your 45 cards for your next match...

I don't know if Azreal is sideboarding or not, I'm just waiting on train for my shuffled deck...

I have Istanbul's deck - just waiting on Master Shakes to get that match underway...

I'm hoping we can get some other players for another match, Manpriest hasn't responded at all (perhaps he's still on vacation or something)...

I'm easing Mikeymike into this whole online forum-type play; once he gets comfortable, I'm sure he'll dive in some other games :)
