Well, there's a reason that it's only for people that logged in durring that time frame: That was when 2.0 was first released and the players had to deal w/ crashes at least once or twice a day. Basically, it's an apology to keep us from outright quitting the game...

You mean that you're actually shocked? A majority of the people that play MTGO play to win above all else. So, the best way to do that is w/ the most psychotic creature ever made...

Open games. That's right. Only games designated Open.

Now, how many tournaments have Open status? That's right, none. Not a single solitary one.

Meaning that the only-winning-matters, cutthroat players who largely inhabit MTGO have shot themselves in the foot by voting for boring creatures that they CAN'T USE to win their precious tournaments.

Me, I wanted Serra Avatar, Deranged Hermit, and Thrashing Wumpus.

Well, that was a joke!

a couple hours into the event more people than they could handle came into their premier event room (free stuff will cause this to happen) and their servers went through repeated crashes.
Those that got in on the early events got the free avatars - I didn't sign on until Saturday evening, so I got left out...my first chance to get a new avatar and I got hosed...I was thinking about keeping my free product, but I doubt they'll try the free tourneys again, so I opened the deck/packs. I had some GREAT cards. I would have done so well in the tourney...

...I felt even worse for the Adepts as they had to put up w/ lots of complaints and they only had the same limited info from WotC that we had...the whole thing was a disaster...

Got Serra Avatar, the only card I actually would've liked to get.

For me the party was quite a success, played in one tourney* and guess what: I won it :D :D.
Being in a different timezone apparently has its advantages.

*my first since the MTGO beta stopped. My only preparation for this tourney was a single OLS league :).

I was up at 330am saturday. actually I had stayed up all night for a different reason but I managed to play in one of the first tourneys. Didn't get the Avatar yet I just checked. Have to email customer service. did a 2-2 drop. My deck really sucked. didn't have much removal at all.

I actually had bought some 8th packs to play in another tournament. After some sleep get up to find out the tourney had crashed so I joined an 8th league.

Sold the preinvasion pack unopened for 11 tix(helped buy the 8th packs). I never play open games really only wanted Serra Avatar so I figured sell the unopened pack and buy a Serra Avatar when the price goes down.
