Creatures 21
3 Soul Warden
2 Mother of Runes
2 Advance Scout
2 Suq'Ata Lancer
3 Soltari Champion
4 Lightning Elemental
2 Flowstone Hellion
1 Skizzik
1 Volcanic Dragon
1 Two-Headed Dragon

Permanents 7
3 Knighthood (key to the deck but I can't find my 4th)
2 Jayemdae Tomes
2 Phyrexian Splicer

Spells 9
3 Incinerate
2 Humble
3 Disenchant
1 Death or Glory

Lands/Mana 23
1 Sol Ring
2 Plateau
1 Reflecting Pool
1 Strip Mine
10 Mountains
8 Plains

Knighthood (gives all my critters 1st strike) is the strength of the deck but it is still dangerous without it. The Soltari's work very nicely with the hasted creatures and the Splicer (which I've been eyeing for awhile and finally decided to use) does some seriously cool tricks in big MP games with lots of targets. I might have to add another Death or Glory, I played it for the 1st time last night and it grabbed me 3 creatures. Oh and the Hellion is a killer with the Knighthood and a Champion or 2.

I felt like building this deck b/c I hadn't built a non-lockdown, crazy mass effect, or combo deck in awhile and I wanted to play with something fun. This is fun, its just consistant.

What should do/cut to make it stronger? Any cool cards I could add?

You know the drill, thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments.

Where are the Living Lasers?! You know, the Soltari Guerrillas.

Then you have more shadow to splice to/from things...

What else... Chain Lightning, Rolling Thunder, Shattering Pulse...

Gotta go, more later...

In regards to something I said in another of your posts, Purify might actually be decent "tech" in a MP game. With all of the enchantments (moreso than artifacts, but they're around too) that keep cropping up in chaos games -- ranging from Armadillo Cloak to Warped Devotion to Seismic Assault and beyond -- Purify could be a game breaker. As you are already playing red, maindecking a few Pyro/Red Elemental Blasts could force the Purify through.

While playing this would destroy your key card (Knighthood), that can be alleviated by using other creatures that already have first strike. Conversely, with 3 or 4 Knighthoods in the deck, you will likely be holding one in your hand should Purify resolve. That only leaves card drawing and the Splicer... run more Splicers and cantrips maybe?

Heavy Ballista and D'avenant Archer work well with first strikers, as does Anaba Shaman. Is there a spellshaper that grants first strike? He would be a good use for dead cards (such as the aforementioned REB/Pyroblasts or even Purify). Speaking of spellshapers, the Avenger is nice, with his psuedo-STP ability.

I like the idea of the first striking Two Headed Dragon, though...

Just some thoughts.

Yeah! Anaba Shaman!

Um, Skizzik would be good here. Tahngarth, too.

keeping with the theme. Icatian Skirmishers. I can't help it I like banding especially since it has been dead for a while most kids don't know what it is good for.

Knights of Thorn.

Banding AND Protection from Red...

Wildfire Emissaries are just plain useful in MP decks...

This is a General's deck for Emperors, that can play chaos. I figured its probably a good idea to start mentioning how these decks are going to be played.

I'm really thinking of dropping the Jayemdae Tomes altogether. Card drawing is great, but I'm usually wishing these were lands.

This deck gets color-screwed so often I feel I haven't been able to get a feel for how its supposed to play. 1 game out of about 7 or 8 I recall not getting land screwed. WTF?!?! It sucks b/c I love the idea of the deck but I can't judge the friggin thing.

What I'm trying to do with the creature base is take advantage of the first strike by using creatures with high power vs. toughness and Haste (to screw up blocking plans). Thats why I like the Flowstones and want more Skizziks. I don't have Earthquakes in here so the prot red isn't going to do me a ton of good.

Purify is a good idea, its worth packing one at least.

I'll be playing this sucker tonight, I'll scoop you in on how it does and I'll give a better response.

Thanks guys

Sunglasses of Urza? If you are getting shafted on red, at least...

I am considering the same card for one of my decks.

Hmmm... here's my suggestions.

Instead of the Jayemdae Tomes you could put in more burn, Lightning Bolt of Shock will probably work best, and possibly a Fervor, to keep in theme with the rest Haste creatures.

I don't think you need 3 Disenchants, unless the people you play with are really into artifact and enchantment type decks, so I'd take out one of those, and add one of the cards I put above.

Actually, in group play Disenchants are almost always useful - they get rid of a Disk which can cause trouble, Dueling Grounds, Teferi's Moat, and whatever else can mess with your critters.

Yay! I killed my first person on Friday with this thing. I have to find another spot in the Deck for Death or Glory. It surprised the hell out of everyone and killed me a player. My emperor was playing a creatureless deck and the other general wasn't getting his creatures, so my guys (3 Lightning Elementals, 1 Soltari Champion, 1 MoR, 1 2 Headed Dragon) were getting aced like Chicago mobsters. Thankfully the 3 Elementals got do to do 16 points of damage before their departure.

I was getting hammered right back (hey I never said the deck had good defense) and my blockers were non-existant so my life dipped below ten. I topdecked a Death or Glory, split LE, LE, Soltari / LE, MoR, 2 headed Dragon. They picked the 1st batch, then realized they had haste and could only block one, then he died. I of course died shortly afterwards but that's not the point. The deck actually did something!

The Jayemdae Tomes again did nothing. They are gone. But I hate to not have any card drawing.
The Splicers are awesome and have done some neat tricks, but I don't think they are aggressive enough for the deck. They're a tough call

Sunglasses of Urza might help, but I've found they are best with red pumpers ala Shivan Dragon. Hopefully the R/W Pains will fix a lot of my mana problems.

The disenchants need to stay, they've yet to be a wasted draw.

Apocalypse will bring me:
Painland (thank God)
Split Card, Chaos and Order (how good is this thing)
2/5 Flowstone guy

And I still have to add
1 Knighthood
1 Death or Glory
1 Wheel of Fortune?

And fix the creatures

Its my work in progress.
