MP - False Cure Ideas and crappy deck

Besides splashing white for evilness such as Life Burst and Congregate (which I still plan on running of course), I had another semi-diabolical idea with false cure. Green cards in particular, cards like:

Skyshroud Cutter (each other player loses 10 life, for 2 cards, BB, and a free 2/2)
Invigorate (like a free +9/+9)
Refreshing Rain (free and a target loses 12, eh)
Reverent Silence (free if I have everyone else lose 12)

I'm thinking:

4 False Cure
4 ??

4 Life Burst
2 Skyshroud Cutter
2 Reverent Silence
2 Invigorate
2 Congregate

3 Mirari
3 Soldevi Digger
4 Spike Weaver

3 Pernicious Deed
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Balance
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain

24 Lands

Thoughts?

Wow! I've NEVER seen False Cure before. Anazing! It turns Stream of Life into a massive X-Damage spell, and it makes even Healing Salve a decent card. Too bad Mikeymike beat me to it, but maybe I can make a maniacal variant...BRB *chomp*

Nice, but you may have to delve into three-color territory there...That or a nice White-Black with "Target player gains ? life" spells. I am NOT adding Drain Life, though...

I think you could stay B/W, running other items like vindicate...

Just for kicks - the little 2/2 bear from invasion would be nice for life manipulation...

I think vindicates could also be helpful, that or Wrath of god...

True...I tried to make a type 2 B/W, but it's a little difficult, mainly because I know dick about Type 2. I'll try a B/G T2 deck, but if that doesn't work, it's time to get 1.5... *chomp* ...on my opponents.

I usually run a B/W at state competitions - it's always so unexpected...

I usually go 4/3 or 5/3...

Still not good enough to make the cut though...

See, when I talk about playing Magic nowadays, it's always on Apprentice, so going 4/3 isn't really a problem, but I'm still gonna try to play B/G Type 2.

I just got here, an already I see a bunch of my fellow dorks beating me to goofy combos. This place rocks.

Be aware that False Cure does NOT make them lose the life INSTEAD, that's why it makes them lose double the life, so that there's a net loss.

Man you thought of all my crazy ideas down to the goofy green alternate cost Masques commons. Well, except for one:

Step 1: Morality shift as fast as you can, (I know, it's a stupid request, being that it costs 7. That's why this idea really isn't viable).
Step 2: Play Forbidden Crypt.
Step 3: "draw" a Howling Mine from your graveyard.
Step 4: "draw" a Life Burst and a False Cure from your graveyard. BAM! 16 life gone!
Step 5: "draw" a False Cure and a Skyshroud Cutter or something lame like that, game over.

Still, designing a deck to just get one false cure and a handful of the Green Acc Masques commons could potentially blow somebody up pretty fast. The good part about the Masque commons is that you don't need mana to start blowing people in the face with them. With a lucky hand you could kill your opponent turn 3, turn 2 if you own Bayous.

The Green Masques cards are the way to go for a deck like this because they play for free and the False Cure only lasts until end of turn.

I playtested a version of Mikeymike's deck on Apprentice. I was facing a mill deck, but I was losing badly. With only 6 creatures, you're not going to be able to get any sort of combat advantage (a weenie deck could dust this one in no time flat if it's not careful). Here's my deck & tell me what you think:

1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain
4 False Cure
2 Reverent Silence
2 Invigorate
2 Skyshroud Cutter
4 Spike Weaver
1 Balance
2 Congregate
3 Healing Salve
4 Life Burst
3 Mirari
3 Soldevi Digger
3 Pernicious Deed
6 Swamp
8 Plains
10 Forest

...Wow, looking at it a second time, this is NOT a T1.5 deck. Guess Ishould re-tool to make it T1.5 legal. That, or go T1...

Its important to note that the idea is strictly for multi-player play (notice the 'MP' designation I put in my titles), I realize that it won't have the speed to hang in competitive 1v1. But in MP where I can sit quietly for awhile and then drop a bomb, that's were I feel it can succeed.

Another note, I've got a full set of dual lands at my disposal.

Last thing, that initial list was off the top of my head so it definitely needs more forethought. I just don't know when I'll be able to develop some real strategy for it (although I know it will run green for some of the free ACC cards). It will also run 4x Swords to Plowshares.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, these are the items I feel need specific attention:

- Some form of recursion of the instant/sorceries. Currently I've got the Digger, Forb Crypt could work as well as Yawg's Agenda.
- Polished life tricks
- Better defense and utility (and hopefully something that fits with the theme a la STP)

I've got Mirari to help protect the combo, so I don't know if I need Abeyance, but I also see its advantage in the deck. Could easily go in.

The cutters are, IMHO, one of the best options, but there's even a more amusing solution available

Grollub:
2B
3/3
for each damage dealt to grollub, all opponents gain 1 life....

Grollubpinging
4x Grollub
4x False Cure
4x Fireball (any X-damage spell will do, Kaervak's torch, Rolling Thunder, Blaze)
4x Simalcrum
4x Earthquake (run 6 or 8 if you can... variants like Starstorm work well.... these allow for a quick kill with grollub)
4x Mana Flare
4x Vampiric tutor
4x Diabolic Tutor
4x No Mercy (or some other defensive spell)

24 Land

Grollub + simalcrum + false cure + earthquake means that a 7-point earthquake results in 21 damage to all opponents....

Mana Flare will get you the mana for 20-point fireballs (or 10-point earthquakes will kill too) that suddenly target all opponents and cannot be prevented.

If you have Furnace of Wrath, that's better than No Mercy.

So, to sum up, earthquake for 10 + false Cure + Gollub = Amusing as all get-out....

Step 2.5 - Watch your opponent die to all the Laquatus' Champions and Longhorn Firebeasts and Soul Scourges coming into play!!!...
;)

I won the Nomad Mythmaker contest with a combo deck built upon Morality Shift.

Cabal Ritual makes Morality Shift extremely strong for early play...
