Hold up. Durigng assignation of dmg, you would have had to assign all 7 to the Werebear and trample dmg no longer automatically tramples over in excess of the creature's toughness so I should still be at 16.
But after the Steamclaw resolves, we still have to both pass before the Dmg Step resolves. I assume you do since you continued on, but I'm going to tap out for Embolden (Prevent the next 4 dmg that would be dealt this turn to any # of target creatures and/or players, divided as I choose) on my Werebear, bringing him back to Threshold anyway.
