Assuming neither one of us did anything about it, if I block with the Ranger my 4/1 and your 4/4 War-Makers would just trade, right?

If that's the case, I'll block them.

Yes, although my War-Makers will only be 3/3. Rampage doesn't take effect until after the first blocker.

So is that how you want to block?

Yeah, the rampage-like ability in later sets where it DOES take effect on the first blocker is better :)
