Monday, May 17, 2004. A historic day in the United States, as the state of Massachusetts legalized gay marriage. Awesome. Totally awesome. A groundbreaking development that will hopefully continue state by state or nationally within our lifetimes. Congrats to Massachusetts!

Yeah, there already was a gay marriage thread, but that was a San Francisco one and Mayor Gavin's potentially illegal actions. This, on the other hand, is a historic and fully legal step in the right direction--an end to one more type of discrimination.

Wait, what's the difference between this and San Francisco again? SF just went ahead and issued liscenses without the law being passed first?

    yeah - that's SF's case...

"Are you a bean form Boston... yea - a fruitful one..."

    It'll be legal everywhere shortly...
