My name is NorrYtt on MtGO, and I've spent $23.74 on it (two draft sets of OD,TOR,JU). I squeezed out about 5 drafts before bottoming out, then I got a free draft from Chuck's Virtual Party (Sliver Queen).

If you can learn the system, you can do great, like going infinite from drafts. Drafts are heavily skewed by the market though (like how New Frontiers was a 16 ticket rare, which pays for your draft and then some, but you'd just have to know that and never pass it).

It's very interesting. I was drafting to make money, which means drafting to win, but snagging $ cards also.

At some point my momentum faded and I lost many drafts in a row. So I traded off most of my $ cards for a Domain engine and some Questing Phelddagrifs (got 'em 2 for a tick or something insane, the guy really wanted U/G Madness cards).

The deck is really fun because it's my style and I get to abuse Holistic Wisdom. Most people don't have a clue what it does until it's locked the game up.

Riggers seems like his - he'd be around if Andy was on - but that's his friend's ...

My nine-year old is being assertive (we use that term instead of a more perjorative one) and would like to play Magic On Line. Is this reasonably feasible or should we be concerned? We don't know anything about the system (other than what I have read in this thread), but are a little protective about his being on line, since it's difficult to monitor activity all the time.

Thanks.

I would imagine it's pretty much the same as a chat room, only you have a game going to. If you're concerned about language for instance, you may need to monitor it for a while to see who he plays. And of course, the "never give out personal info" applies...

Magic Online is generally very safe. The only thing you have to watch out for is profanity, and most of that is just blanked right out; few people know the workarounds, and honestly, most of the workarounds aren't bad.
