M:TG game by Microprose patch?

I re-installed this game so I can play a bit of Magic and seem to remember that there's a patch for it. I can't find it on fileplanet or microprose (I guess now Infogrames) websites, so does anyone know where else I might look?

You mean the original game? The one where you walk around and duel monsters in a death-defying game of Magic? I haven't played that game in years.

As for the patch, are you talking about the Spells of the Ancients add-on? If so, I think you have to by it.


However, if I am thinking of a completely different game, hit me with a stick.

To get all the new cards, you have to buy the add-on. But their was a patch that made the computer slightly less of an idiot. But since nobody is supporting it anymore, I imagine you'd be hard-pressed to find it anywhere.

I just installed it on this computer, but WinME hates Shandalar...not that there's anything it doesn't hate...

You might be able to find it using Morpheus(I find everything with Morpheus), but don't kill me if you don't.

sageridder pointed me in the right direction, but the links don't work... so I'm exploring further what else I can find.

I just need the patch for the original game (like what Apollo's talking about), not Spells of the Ancients.

Yeah you need the manalink patch. I saved it at home. I will email it to you.

If you haven't played the game, I would *seriously* advise against loading it.

It was a lousy game, and crashed my computer about 90% of the time just trying to open it.

I *never* got Spells of the Ancients to open without crashing my computer.

I had a few problems with it. But the patch made it more stable. Spells really makes the game fun. Playing with dual lands and moxes is fun. You will have to get use to the pre 6th rules again.

That's okay, I looked around Infogrames website and finally found the patches. I don't use Manalink, (I figure that's what's Apprentice is for) so I just got the basic patch.

Mr.P: The game is okay, I have played it before and aside from some hokey AI issues (even with the patch), it lets me play Magic again. Heck, it's a challenge to win with your limited selection of cards when you choose the highest difficulty... :)

Hey, Spidy, where's that patch, and what does it do?

I've gotten fed up with beating the black mage this time-- He's got a Carrion Ants to start, THEN he tries to activate it, cancils, activate, cancils, et cetera until five minutes go by(slow computer, that's why it plays well on my machine, haha.), then it has a disconnected number that it tells me to call and report the bug with...

go here for the patches. What you need is pretty self-explanatory.

The patch fixes some AI issues and all... the txt file explains it better. With it, I've only had the AI activate Mishra's Factory ONCE and cancel instead of 4 times :p
