Weeeeee!

I am hearby opening this thread up to discussion about the new cycle of dragons and myojin from Champions of Kamigawa.

As the thread starter, I'll push this along by asking a slew of questions. Feel free to deviate, however!

For each cycle, (All two of 'em), answer any number of the following questions:

1) Which one do you think will be the strongest in casual multiplayer.
2) Which one do you want to get your hands on the most?
3) Which one would be the best to get in limited?
4) Which one do you think will be the most competetive in Type 2?

I'll start!

The Dragons:

1) I think this is a no brainer - the black one has the biggest repercussions in multiplayer.
2) However, I'd certainly prefer to be playing with the green one. A fat green flier at a reasonable cost? Sing me up!
3) I suppose it'd be the red one, but the blue one is just so splashable and swingy.
4) I think if any of the dragons shine in competetive play, it'll be the blue one.

The Myojin:

1) I have to go with the white one here, but red and black pack a punch in multiplayer too.
2) I like multiplayer discard - so black.
3) Again, probably the white one, followed closely by the blue one, (Drawing a bajillion cards in limited usually wins you the game).
4) I feel like people are going to be sneaking in the red one into decks that plan on controlling the board.

Anyway, what say you, Certified Public Accountants?

Dragons
1) The Black one, no doubt. It is a very MP friendly ability, and its colors allowing to get in and out of the GY very easily (thinking Recurring Nightmare, Victimize, etc.)
2) The Green one, for the exact reasons you mention, plus he'd be fun in my mono-green Power Conduit deck.
3) Red then Blue. But if the White one dies at the right time it should win the game.
4) The white one, it has 'broken combo' written all over it

Myojins
1) White for non-combo purposes, Green for combo purposes, Black for evil purposes, Red for annoyance purposes. I feel like Blue would rather just play Braingeyser most of the time.
2) The white one, it is an instant hard-to-counter WoG, plus 6 damage immediately afterwards. Great creature.
3) White, then blue. Both are game winning Limited abilities.
4) Tough call, right now I can't see any of them seeing much play, but if played correctly the red one is a 3-turn clock, so I'll say red.

The Tentacled One
Well, I'm not an accountant, although I almost got this pin that said "CPA" on it (referring to the accountant thing, certainly) just for fun...

Anyway, this is certainly interesting. Part of me wants to sit back and watch, then when one of them proves to be awesome, claim I knew all along...

For the dragons...

1. Kokusho. It's not even close. This thing screams multiplayer.
2. Yosei, also an easy one. It has soft lockdown capability built into it. And I like lockdowns.
3. That's tough. I'm not a limited player. I yield to the judgement of those who are. If I had to pick one though, I would probably say Ryusei. It doesn't have a double colored mana cost, which is helpful. It's probably good at clearing the board if it dies.
4. I'm not a Standard player either. I don't know what decks could use any of these guys. I have yet to pick Jugan or Keiga, so one of them (I think Yosei is the best overall though). Actually, Jugan's ability doesn't seem all that useful. Keiga it is.

Now for the myojins. These guys are scary. They cost a ton though and have to be hard cast...

1. Quite a contest. These guys are probably crazy for casual multiplayer. A 4/6 Wrath of God (that doesn't kill itself) for 5WWW, a 7/4 Armageddon for 7RRR, an 8/8 GOD (lets you drop all the creatures in your hand for free) for 6GGG, a 5/2 ultimate Mind Twisting machine of doom for 5BBB, and a 3/3 auto win for 7UUU. Did we mention that they're all indestructable until the abilities are used? These are such obviously multiplayer-based cards that it's debatable which one is best for multiplayer. I would understand picking any of them. But for now, my top pick is Cleansing Fire.
2. Seeing Winds might be fun to try with Dream Halls, but I am not enthusiastic about obtaining any of these guys particularly.
3. These are so horrible for limited play, but Cleansing Fire is one of the two cheapest, and is bigger AND more of an impact than the other cheapest one, so it's my pick again.
4. Again, I do NOT know Standard. These look too expensive for duels. They range between 8 and ten mana, and all of them have triple color requirements. They can't be reanimated or snuck in by any means, or they lose the divinity powers. If green somehow has enough mana acceleration available in Standard, Life's Web packs quite a punch and is still an 8/8 after the fact...

I like all of them, but the obvious combo to me is Yosei and Corpse Dance, along w/ some way to sac him, like Altar of Dementia.

Duh. You don't need a way to sack him, you just have to put Living Wish on a Panoptic Mirror and a way to discard him. Jeez, get with the times, man.

O - Seen 'em - here's my takes...

1) Which one do you think will be the strongest in casual multiplayer.
2) Which one do you want to get your hands on the most?
3) Which one would be the best to get in limited?
4) Which one do you think will be the most competetive in Type 2?

Dragons -
1 - Definitely Kokusho - this life loss could be a killer...
2 - Yosei - that's just my style...
3 - Ryusei - less flyers - worldly damage... great board sweeper... but yosei comes in a strong second...
4 - Probably Keiga... the control is just wrong... (It's BLUE - so no surprise...)

Myojin -
1 - Rage - definitely makes you a target... losing creatures to wrath okay... losing lands to geddon - not okay...
2 - Rage and cleansing...
3 - Seeing Winds - many more permanents in this format and drawing into a slosh of them could easily win the game...
4 - Cleansing Fire - Just too strong against the critters...
