Isty: why don't you copy/paste the article in an email to the writer, with suggestions for revision? Then, ignore it until the writer responds, and cut it/post it then. You can also ignore it and make a post in the founders forum, asking their opinions.

And I think we do need some sort of standards for what to post (probably agreed upon by the editors), but this thread isn't the place to discuss it.

Oh, yeah, stay.:)

Leave for a month and let Isty do most of the editing and look what happens...

While I'm glad that most of you seem to think I have a "happy-go-lucky" approach to the articles, rest assureD that is really not the case. (Doh!) I do try to follow the guidelines set by the founders and if it turns out that Isty style of editing is the way to go, I will follow that way too. I have received my share of flak about editing (mostly about cursing with Houts) and I've cut a few articles also.

Perhaps one thing that might be good is to have the authors have another copy of their article somewhere. I personally doubt that most of them are writing off the cuff and don't have it pre-written on Word or something, but just in case, have it as a file somewhere else. Then, since we don't have the feature of sending it back to the author directly yet, if an editor makes suggestions, a copy of the article is available to perhaps make those suggestions.

In any case, the original intent of this thread is moot, as Isty has decided to stay. I just wanted to clear up some perceptions about MY editing style :)
