If someone were to create jewelry based off of the artwork of the Moxes, would anyone actually buy it?

You mean nobody tried this already? I'm surprised if that's the case!

Haven't heard anything about it... a jeweler would probably have to be a Magic fan, or a wealthy player would have to commission them...

I have already begun work on a Mox Diamond and am thinking about putting in a piece of tanzanite or something in there to simulate a diamond...

I can't find a diamond of that size that someone would either be willing to buy or I can afford to put in there.

I was thinking about doing that in silver, and then having the center "stone" being a black pearl.

Arn't man-made diamonds fairly cheap compared to other 'real' diamonds?

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Synthetic diamonds have, last I heard, become significantly cheaper with the advent of carbon plasma technology (cheaper to produce, but of higher quality than before) and I believe there are some people selling them at more reasonable prices than natural diamonds go for. Natural diamonds are expensive because De Beers inflates the prices, but if you had some alternative means of acquiring them, they wouldn't be so expensive...
