Does anybody watch or has anybody seen the anime The Big O?
I saw 3 episodes a few years ago on video, and I noticed a while ago that Cartoon Network was showing it, despite the fact that it's edited.

Anyway, to the people who have seen it, what did you think?

And, if anyone cares, I would like to put in my own petition to Sunrise to make more episodes. The director of the series wants to, but Sunrise seems to be concentrating more on the U.S. release of Gundam X...anyway, I need names to put on the petition.

I hate Cartoon Network. They promote the worst attempts at animation possible. Why didn't they pick up Project GKR? Because they SUCK!

Whatever happened to the REAL Anime...

...take a look at one episode of DarkStalkers...GOD, at least it looks good.

Anyway, aside from your rude comments, I would like some reasons why you do not like it. Then again, if that is all you wanted to say, so be it... I was just asking what people thought. After all, everyone's entitled to their opinion, however crudely they wish to state it.

And what did you mean by "REAL anime"? Do you consider yourself a conisseur of anime?
Darkstalkers? Yes, it had excellent visuals, but nowhere near as good visual quality as the Big O.. and that isn't even a preferential statement about the art. The editing and processing quality is better with the Big O.

The Big O, made in Japan for the WOWWOW satellite network in 1999, has been called by some of the best critics in the area a "fantastically designed, although unfortunately short-lived, series".

And I, for one, hope that it continues.

Big-O will never replace DragonBallZ. Big-O sucks, die, Big-O, die. No, seriously, I don't like Big-O that much. They tried to put too much stuff in the place of one cartoon, a big robot, a detective kindof guy, Blade Runner?

Azreal the Soulmaster, I mean the Nightwarriors movies...all 4 of them. They're better than Big O AND Dragonball Z. Sorry, that's my opinion.

Goku, I'm sorry that you feel a bit offended by my comments, they were solely my own. I don't know, and don't care about what the critics have said about anything. All I know is that I watched 2 (maybe 3) Big O episodes, and I didn't like it at all. I liked the Darkstalkers Nightwarriors movies. I don't know if I'm wrong, or if I'm right. Heck, Big O could be the best anime out there....I dunno...all I know is that from my short experience, I liked Darkstalkers better. This is my opinion and my opinion a lone.

Ah well, I noticed that Dragonball Z was brought up.
I love that show, as well! Not the Cartoon Network version, of course, but the Japanese unedited subtitled episodes.
Some of you may remember, I replied to a post quite a while ago, describing my favorite character as Son Gokuo. (I hate how on Cartoon Network they've changed so many names! Son Gokuo to Goku [they're completely different names] Mr. Satan to Hercule, Tenshinhan to Tien, and so on.)

Darkstalkers? I watched the movies and most of the series long ago; however, I remember the video game most fondly.
I enjoyed the series, although the figure that mostly stands out to me was Morrigan, known to some as "the bat-chick".

I love DragonballZ too. A friend of mine had the unedited Japanese version with subtitles, but I'm not in touch with him anymore so I'm forced to watch the Cartoon Network ones.

I couldn't take that much of the Cartoon Network shows. Their inability to express Toriyama's ultimate dream (or just the fact that he highly dislikes to see his things edited) irritates me beyond belief.

thats all i wanted to know DUke, i love the Darkstalkers movies, much more than Dragonball, but i still stick to my favorite anime of all time...The Slayers, and Trigun is a close runner up
